Jennifer Lopez is being accused of some savvy marketing for one of her movies.
When the 54-year-old actress was promoting her stalker film The Boy Next Door in 2015, she asked her costar Ryan Guzman to do something uncouth, it has been claimed.
The Jenny From the Block singer requested that Ryan pretend he was single, his girlfriend at the time, Melanie Iglesias, is now claiming on the No Chaser podcast.
Iglesias has come forward to accuse JLo of masterminding the move, explaining if Ryan seemed single, it would indicate that there could be sparks with the Bronx beauty.
That is why Jennifer was seen holding hands with Ryan when they promoted the movie, all the while knowing Guzman went back to Iglesias at the end of the night.
Lopez – who was dating Casper Smart in 2015 – and Iglesias look very similar with toned figures and long dark hair.

Lopez did indeed have a vested interest in the movie as she was one of the producers through her production company with Benny Medina called Nuyorican Productions.
Jennifer poured her heart into the film, making sure the financing came through, and she even wore her own clothing in the movie to keep the costs down.
So it is no wonder she worked hard to try to make the movie do well and creating a fake romance to help the box office sales is not unheard of in Hollywood.
The Boy Next Door ended its domestic box office run with a total of $36.0 million, and has earned another $17.4 million in foreign markets, making a total of $53 million.
The movie has been doing well on the streamers in recent years.
Melanie also said she met Jennifer at an awards show when she was still dating Ryan and the introduction was awkward.
Iglesias is a 36-year-old model and actress from Brooklyn.
After being voted Maxim’s Hometown Hotties winner in 2010, she has been featured in magazines such as World’s Most Beautiful, Esquire, and Vibe.
Melanie has also been on the shows Orange Is The New Black and Dead House.

The movie had a straight forward stalker plot. When a handsome, charming teenager named Noah (Guzman) moves in next door, newly separated high-school teacher Claire Peterson (Lopez) encourages his friendship. She then engages in a little bit of harmless flirtation
Although Noah spends much of the time hanging out with Claire’s son, the teen’s attraction to her is palpable. One night, Claire gives in to temptation and lets Noah seduce her but when she tries to end the relationship, he turns violent. The movie was directed by Rob Cohen

This comes just as JLo had a triumph with many projects this year.
She starred in her own movie This Is Me… Now about finding true love again in her 50s.
Lopez was ‘unfiltered’ for her documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
Director Jason Bergh has worked with the singer and actress for years and he revealed she was generous with her time and access but her best friend also filmed some of the more intimate moments.
He told Variety: ‘It was implicit, which comes when you work with someone for so long. I also give a lot of credit to Ana Carballosa, who is Jennifer’s best friend.
‘She had a camera too and was there for things I couldn’t get.
‘Access was unfiltered and then in the edit we decided if something served our story or not. Sure, it’s revelatory, but we’re very relaxed with each other.’
Jason was also given access to Jennifer’s husband Ben Affleck and manager Benny Medina and praised both for being so open.

He said: ‘Medina! I call him Uncle Benny because he’s been such a huge supporter of mine. The whole camp is very big on story – making sure we have a beginning, middle and end. Ben is amazing too. He’s a great filmmaker who understands the process and is extremely supportive. I had to pinch myself, honestly. I moved out to Los Angeles 20-something years ago, and always have dreamed of being in this position.’
The Greatest Love Story Never Told is a documentary about the making of Lopez’s 2024 visual album ‘This Is Me … Now’ and Jason worked hard to help Jennifer stay ‘unguarded’.
He said: ‘There are two very powerful moments in ‘This Is Me … Now,’ for the songs ‘Broken Like Me’ and ‘Rebound.’ When we were shooting ‘Broken,’ you could hear a pin drop. There are 100 people on set, but there she is, just digging this pain out of herself. This raw emotion through dance and music. I am an emotional dude, and you can’t help but be drawn in with her in those moments. As a documentarian, I had to be very cautious about how I document those moments because I want her to stay unguarded. I shot with longer lenses and from further distances, and worked my way in.
