Ryan Gosling Steals the Show at Oscars 2024 with Electrifying Performance of Barbie Hit in Sparkling Pink Suit, Joined by Co-Stars and Slash at Disappointing Ceremony

Ryan Gosling brought the ‘Kenergy’ as he performed nominated track I’m Just Ken at Sunday’s Oscars.

The Best Supporting Actor nominee, 43, donned a sparkling pink suit as he exuded confidence onstage – accompanied by his Barbie co-stars and Guns N Roses guitarist Slash, 58.

Barbie – was nominated for eight awards, but also fell victim to notable snubs from the Academy. 

Its star Margot Robbie was not nominated for best actress, while Greta Gerwig was not nominated for best director.

Another surprise saw America Ferrera nominated for best supporting actress over her role in Barbie, with pundits saying her character’s impassioned speech on feminism had sealed the deal. 

Barbie’s other nominations include best picture, best supporting actor for Gosling – who lost to Oppenheimer’s Robert Downey Jr. and two nods for best song – including Gosling’s famed ‘I’m Just Ken.’ 

Gerwig was nominated for best director in 2018 for her solo directorial debut, Lady Bird. Only three women have won Oscars for best director – Kathryn Bigelow, Chloe Zhao and Jane Campion. 

Gosling was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Ken – but lost to Oppenheimer’s Robert Downey Jr.

Barbie was released in July and raked in a record-breaking $1.45 billion at the global box office, and $636 million domestically
