Ryan Gosling couldn’t stop laughing during one of the promotional clips for his hosting duties on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
The 43-year-old actor was trying to act cool when next to his idol, musical guest Chris Stapleton.
But the two ended up cracking up when cast member Sarah Sherman started acting goofy, first with a country twang in a cowgirl outfit and then confused after she said looking at the eclipse messed her up.
The two sketches debuted on Thursday.
In the first segment, the performer – who recently made a rare comment concerning his home life – introduced both himself and the country singer before the actress barged in wearing western gear.
Although Gosling protested and told Sherman that she ‘said it would be weird if we dressed up for Chris,’ she countered by stating that she ‘dressed up for me,’ after which Stapleton complimented her outfit.
The Barbie actor then admitted that the actress looked ‘so cool,’ after which the singer added: ‘You look good too, Ryan.’

The second segment began with the Drive star and the songwriter introducing themselves and speaking about their episode, although the comedian turned her back towards the camera.
Sherman then attempted to correct her positioning twice and explained that she had ‘looked in the eclipse and I can’t tell where the camera is now,’ after which the actor and the songwriter lost their composure.
Gosling was featured in another promotional clip for the upcoming episode that was released earlier this week.
In the clip, the performer attempted to work up the courage to appear alongside Stapleton and tried to find an opening line to introduce himself to the singer.
The actor went on to enter the songwriter’s dressing room and, although he fought the urge to put on his hat, he ultimately donned the headwear.
It was announced that Gosling had signed on to host one of Saturday Night Live’s new episodes this past March.
The performer had also served as the long-running sketch comedy program’s host in a pair of episodes that aired in 2015 and 2017.
He also made a special appearance during last week’s episode, which was led by Kristen Wiig.

The late-night talk show mainstay went on to state that Greta Gerwig selected Gosling to appear in Barbie after seeing him appear in a sketch on the program’s Weekend Update.
Gosling recalled that the sketch was centered on a man who had just joined the Soho House, and stated that his most identifiable line was ‘Sergeant Blackout reporting for booty.’
Although Fallon remarked that the actor had likely become more comfortable with hosting Saturday Night Live, the actor stated that he was feeling ‘more nervous’ about his third time leading the program.
