The Beautiful Mind actor, who said he is carrying injuries from his physical roles over the years, admitted to receiving injections as part of a wellness program.

‘I’m not really across the science, but the real benefit I’m getting from these into my shoulders, my knees and also IVs, is that it’s calmed down my body’s inflammation,’ he said.

Elsewhere in the chat, Crowe discussed his choice to cut down on alcohol after Rogan asked: ‘What’s more addictive, alcohol or gambling?’

Crowe began by observing that, as a society, ‘we normalise both drinking and wagering’, but ‘we never look at the damage they cause’.

‘I’m a big proponent for having a drink – it’s my cultural heritage and as a working class man, it’s my g***damn right, Joe,’ he said with a laugh.

‘But as you get older, there are certain things you start to learn about your capacities.’

Crowe said that as an older man, one night a week of ‘fun’ was ‘plenty’.

‘If I decide to have a glass of wine with dinner, it’s going to be a really nice wine,’ he said.

‘I try not to have casual drinks, now. [As in] having a drink for the sake of it.’

It comes after Crowe opened up about his relationship with his much younger girlfriend, Britney Theriot, on 60 Minutes.

In a surprisingly candid interview with Karl Stefanovic, the Oscar winner dismissed claims he was engaged to his 33-year-old partner of five years.

The divorced father-of-two, who was previously wed to singer Danielle Spencer, explained that he never intends to marry again.

‘All these reports coming out that Britney and I are engaged and I’m going to get married again? No,’ he said definitively.

‘My life is joyous and happy, why ruin that with a wedding?’ the Oscar-winner joked.

Russell dished intimate details about his life with his US-born ladylove, telling viewers that they were ‘very good friends’ who enjoy a ‘wonderful’ relationship.

‘We respect each other and wake up with a smile, and we are very happy,’ he said, adding that they ‘do everything together’.

Crowe recently enjoyed a date night with Theriot at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

The couple hit the red carpet premiere for Nuremberg, with the two putting on a cozy display.

The historical drama is based on Jack El-Hai’s 2013 nonfiction book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist.

Russell portrays Hermann Göring, a major figure in Hitler’s Nazi Party, who stood trial for war crimes at the Nuremberg Trials in 1945.

His performance has stirred up Oscar buzz, and could potentially place him back in the race for the first time since his Lead Actor nod for A Beautiful Mind in 2002.
