Russell Crowe has revealed that he is still in close contact with his ex-wife, so much so that she’s making an appearance at his upcoming Sydney gig.
The Gladiator star revealed that his former flame Danielle Spencer will be taking to the stage at his Indoor Garden Party, held at the Enmore Theatre on December 20.
Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Russell shared his excitement for the one-night-only performance and the surprising opening act.
‘My former paramour, my ex-wife, Danielle Spencer, she’s opening the show for us,’ he told the radio hosts.
Kyle went on to commend the 61-year-old for his ability to remain on good terms with his ex, whom he was married to for 15 years.
‘Isn’t it nice when you can get an ex to also show up and it doesn’t cause any trouble with the current missus? Everyone’s happy. She’s the mother of your child,’ he said of the blended family.

Russell replied: ‘Yeah everybody’s cool. The coolest about that is my kids. They’re like, “Dad, that’s really, that’s excellent”.’
Russell shares two sons, Charles, 21, and Tennyson, 19, with Danielle, who has become famous for hits such as Wish I’d Been Here and A Night Like This.
The interview comes after reports that Russell drifted apart his close friend Terri Irwin when he began dating his current fiancée Britney Theriot.
Russell and Terri were once considered best friends, with the Robin Hood star previously calling the Wildlife Warrior ‘one of the greatest women’ he’d ever met.
So close were the pair, they were forced to consistently shut down romance rumours after Terri’s late husband Steve Irwin passed away.
However, according to New Idea, the pair haven’t seen each other in around five years.
‘They would talk on the phone and text all the time, and Terri even considered him to be a father figure to Bindi and Robert after Steve died — so losing contact with him has been pretty tough for her,’ a source allegedly told the publication.
According to the ‘insider’, Russell and Terri reportedly drifted apart around the same time the 61-year-old star began dating Britney.

‘There is only room for one woman in Rusty’s life,’ the source alleged.
The source added that Terri was happy for Russell when he found love with the 33-year-old blonde bombshell and could ‘see how smitten he was’.
And despite the pair growing apart, Terri knows Russell would be there in a heartbeat if she ever needed him
‘Even if they didn’t speak for decades — that’s just the type of man he is,’ the source added.
