With a fourth season of The White Lotus confirmed, rumours are swirling about the location for the upcoming series.
The anthology series follows the lives of various dysfunctional guests staying at the fictional White Lotus hotel chain, with the first three seasons being set in Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand.
Aussie fans are hopeful that the fourth iteration of the hit HBO series will be set in the popular tourist spot of Byron Bay.
Satirical Instagram account Lords Of Byron Bay added fuel to the fire on Tuesday, posting a series of White Lotus ‘spoilers’ that all point to the coastal town as being the destination of choice.
The account shared a series of images including what appears to be a fake shooting script that details the location as Wategos Beach, a popular beach in the iconic tourist town.
The post continued by purporting to offer a couple of spoilers for the upcoming season.

‘This season allegedly follows Belinda finally opening her healing centre in the Byron Bay hinterland… and Greg taking his boat up the coast from Sydney to visit his Byron sugar baby at his Wategos hideaway.’
The post went on to claim that cast members from Netflix’s Aussie reality show Byron Baes could even make an appearance.
‘Local whispers say Byron Baes-style cameos are already causing tension at The General Store,’ the post continued.
The humour didn’t end there either, with another photo purporting to show an angry communication from a HBO ‘head of media relations’ vehemently denying the spoilers.
‘There is a screenshot circulating of an Instagram post that claims Season 4 of The White Lotus will be set in Byron Bay.
‘And [it] includes fake plot details about Belinda starting a healing centre in the Hinterland and Greg taking his boat to Wategos,’ the email read.
‘Categorically false info. Lords of fricken Byron Bay are at it again! It’s not true. Please fix this ASAP.’

In spite of the humorous nature of the post, it’s not the first time Byron Bay has been touted as a potential location for the series.
Waxing lyrical about perfect locales for season 4, Vogue Australia said the tourist town would be a perfect location, despite its lack of Four Seasons Hotels, in which all series thus far have been filmed.
They pointed to wellness retreat Soma Byron Bay, which provided the setting for the series Nine Perfect Strangers as a potential backdrop.
Harpers Bazaar, also put Byron Bay on their list, claiming the town’s wellness obsession and recent gentrification would mesh well with the vibe of the series.
It comes as the Mail on Sunday recently revealed that producers were looking at Four Seasons hotels in Africa and Australia – with Marrakech in Morocco as the front-runner.
A source at broadcaster HBO in the US who was in a meeting with series creator Mike White recently said: ‘Mike wants to do a series of White Lotus on every continent.’
‘He’s done Hawaii and Italy and now Thailand. He hates snow, so the likelihood is Africa or Australia. No one thinks it will be Antarctica.’

‘Season four has already been commissioned and Africa is the favourite. It has everything White Lotus fans expect. Heat, exotic locations and dramatic backdrops.’
‘Marrakech offers heat and intrigue. Nothing has been decided, but Africa is the way Mike is leaning.’
The White Lotus production crew signed a reported $33million(USD) deal in 2021 to film exclusively in Four Seasons resorts.
Originally intended as a 6-part limited series, the success of the inaugural season in 2021 led to HBO renewing The White Lotus as an anthology series.
