Ruby Rose’s Stunning Taylor Swift Confession: ‘Not True’

Ruby Rose has leapt to the defence of Taylor Swift after the US pop star was attacked online by fans amid a backlash over the billionaire’s image as an ‘activist’ and feminist.

The 39-year-old Australian actress, who has been friends with Swift for a decade, shot back at Swifties who are incensed by the content of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, which some consider ‘conservative’.

Swift, 39, has been attracting considerable criticism for her high-profile love affair with fiancé and NFL star Travis Kelce, who is referenced repeatedly on the hit record.

‘As someone who has spent many nights discussing the world, social injustice and life, with The Show Girl herself, I refuse to say her name in the same sentence as the hate group, Wackadoodles, are conspiring to attach her to,’ Rose said on Threads, apparently referencing MAGA followers.

The Batwoman actress then directly addressed claims from Swifties that suggested the Blank Space singer had become more ‘conservative’ after she wrote pro-motherhood lyrics for the latest release and was a ‘secret’ supporter of Donald Trump.

‘[But] what I will say is this,’ Rose continued.

‘Given her public position against Trump, and his against her, if you are falling for the propaganda ‘Trad wife’ ‘X, y, z’ claims, you are most definitely walking into the biggest man made, rage bait, black hole.

‘Stop it. It’s not true, and it’s incredibly stupid. It’s also embarrassing and hurtful to see energy put into this.

‘Keep that energy and let’s take it where it’s necessary and needed.’

Elsewhere on Threads, Rose backed Swift up over her much-publicised philanthropy and generosity.

‘LOL. She [Swift] used to scroll GoFundMe like a social media app, clicking ‘reach their donation’ like the ‘like’ button,’ Rose posted.

Swift surprised many fans with her song Eldest Daughters, included on Showgirl, that contains the words: ‘When I said I don’t believe in marriage, that was a lie.’

On another track, called Wi$h Li$t she appears to talk of ‘settling down’ into family and suburban life: ‘…have a couple kids, got the whole block looking like you … got me drеaming ’bout a driveway with a basketball hoop.’

Swift has shown support for Rose, who she met in 2015, and the LGBTQ+ community.

In 2016, the singer was on hand to present Rose with the top prize at the GLAAD Media Awards (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).

Rose was part of the pop star’s ‘girl squad’ – a group of high-profile pals Swift was known to party with around 2016.

The group included Blake Lively, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne.

Since then, Swift has had a falling out with Lively, but now the actress appears to be attempting to repair the break.

Lively publicly showed support for the songbird’s newest album, ‘liking’ Swift’s latest Instagram post ushering in the record – a small step towards undoing the damage a messy legal ordeal inflicted upon them.

Swift was dragged into Lively’s legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, and the drama is said to have cost the Sisterhood with the Traveling Pants singer her once-close friendship with the pop star.

Perhaps the pair are on the path towards mending things however, with The Life of a Showgirl appearing to make mention of Lively in the song Cancelled!

Rather than a so-called diss track about her ‘ex-BFF’, which fans expected Swift to release, the songstress instead paid homage to their long-standing friendship in a show of unity.

The billionaire pop star appeared to offer a tentative olive branch in the chorus, in an attempt to end their reported rift.

She sings: ‘At least you know exactly who your friends are / They’re the ones with matching scars’, seemingly referencing the bond between the two women who have both been singled out, mocked or misunderstood.

Taylor’s lyrics serve an image of strong friendship with Blake, rather than a feud anthem.
