Roman Kemp has said David Beckham told him to ‘look after’ his son Romeo after he ‘got whacked’ on their football team.
The presenter, 32, who plays on seven-a-side team ‘Netflix n’ Skills’ with the model, 23, revealed the former England player, 50, was forced to have a word when Romeo ‘got started on because he was recognised.’
Romeo used to play for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami CF’s reserve team, Inter Miami CF II in September 2021, which his dad co-owns.
But it would seem his football connections don’t do him any favours when it comes to matches back in London where he gets ‘targeted’ on the pitch.
Romeo and Roman play on the team with Czech former professional footballer Petr Čech and singer Tom Grennan.
Speaking in an interview on Friday, Roman revealed how his ‘hero’ David spoke to him while he was attending Romeo’s birthday party.

He told The Sun: ‘He came over and said “hi”, and then turned to me and said, “Look after him please.”
‘A couple of months ago he got started on because he was recognised; they were giving him s***. And the other lads standing on the sideline, they’re also giving him s***.
‘Even I get it – the other day some bloke literally, bang, clobbered me in the face. I turned to him and said ‘what the f***?’, and he goes, “It’s because you’re famous innit.”‘
The Beckham family has been at the centre of shocking feud rumours, with Romeo’s older brother Brooklyn reportedly becoming increasingly estranged from his family.
Romeo was clearly keen to avoid all mention of the situation as he made a rare public appearance on Thursday night for New York Fashion Week.
The footballer awkwardly smiled and kept quiet when one attendee at the House of Champion event made a comment about the current tension – which is said to stem from Brooklyn’s marriage to Nicola Peltz.
According to an insider, the aspiring footballer skipped all red carpet interviews, but took some time to pose for photos with fans inside.
When one attendee approached him he remained cheery, but played coy and had no comment.

The fan told the Daily Mail that she said she told him, ‘I’m sorry to hear about your current family situation,’ and that she could ‘relate’ to what he was going through.
Instead of commenting, he awkwardly shrugged and nodded his head.
He told her, ‘Nice to meet you,’ and gave her a friendly hug as they went their separate ways.
Brooklyn and Nicola married in April 2022 at her family’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida. The multi-million dollar bash was attended by the Beckham family, but they were all absent from their vow renewal earlier this year amid virulent rumours of family strain.
Once seemingly close, Brooklyn was notably absent from Romeo’s 23rd birthday party on September 5 at Japanese restaurant Aki in London.
The man of the hour was instead joined by parents David and Victoria, younger brother Cruz, 20, and sister Harper, 14.
