A LEGENDARY rock frontman has sparked mass concern among his fans after sharing a slew of announcements.
Just one month after revealing he would be retiring after over half a century on stage, David Coverdale of Whitesnake has quit social media for good.
Hanging up his boots aged 74, the frontman enjoyed a glittering career, even once topping the US Billboard Hot 100 charts, with him now bowing out of posting online too.
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, brothers and sisters of the snake…” he began his most recent post which was shared earlier this week.
“After over 20 fun-filled years of interacting online with all of you Snake People, first with the BBS on whitesnake.com and then onto Twitter (those were the days) Facebook, Instagram and TikTok…
“It’s been a fab ride, but along with the over 50 years in the music business, it’s time for me to withdraw from social media to fully engage in sweet reflection on my career and my life and enjoy my retirement with my friends and my beloved family,” he went on.
David continued: “It has been such a pleasure for me to interact with you all over the years…
“Sharing music videos, funny memes, farts and giggles, tour info, unboxings, Q&A with DC, Santa Snake, etc…
“Unforgettable, precious memories… And I thank each and every one of you for your support and participation.
“What an incredible journey we’ve shared together. What a magical experience.”
Giving his followers a sweet and caring message, David added: “Please take care of yourselves and know you are truly loved beyond measure.
“Be safe, be happy and don’t let anybody make you afraid.
“A very Merry Christmas and Wonderful New Year to you and yours from me and mine.
“Your obedient serpent David Coverdale, December 2025,” he signed off.
Fans flocked to the comments section to react to David’s post.
One person said: “I’m going to miss you so much.”
“I will miss your posts, Snake. Thank you for all the magic you shared with us over the years,” penned a second.
“It’s so hard to hear so many farewell messages. It’s heart-breaking. I hope you’re really okay. We already miss you. You made a difference in this world @whitesnake,” added a third.
While a fourth person wrote: “Honestly I can’t understand all these goodbyes. I hope everything is ok.
“In any case, all this is heartbreaking for the ones who loved you and keep loving you so much. I know it may sound strange, but you’ve meant a lot in the lives of many of us.
“Even because you are a wonderful human being, full of love and kindness. You will be sorely missed.”
Just last month, David revealed he would be retiring from the music industry after 50 years in the business.
“The last few years have been very evident to me that it’s time really for me to hang up my rock and roll platform shoes and my skintight jeans,” he said at the time.
