Rochelle Humes: ‘I felt I’d let everyone down’ after becoming pregnant at 23 during The Saturdays’ success.

Rochelle Humes has revealed she was made to feel like she had ‘messed up’ after falling pregnant with her first child whilst in The Saturdays.

The singer, 36, has recalled how she felt ashamed during her first pregnancy at the age of 23 at the height of the band’s success.

In a new podcast, she claimed she was made to feel that she had tainted their youthful image after starting her family in her early 20s.

Rochelle is married former JLS singer Marvin Humes, 40, and the loved up couple wed in 2012.

They share three children together, Alaia Mai 12, Valentina, seven, and Blake, four.

She said: ‘I remember getting pregnant aged 23 and thinking, “I am pregnant and in a girlband, isn’t that against the law”.

‘I was almost made to feel that I had let everybody down by having the baby… incredibly so and it really felt like, I was pregnant, and I was in a girlband, it was almost like I was trying not to be pregnant, even though everybody knew.’

Rochelle’s children often feature on her social media pages, enjoying fun filled family days out and luxury holidays.

Indeed, her two daughters’ play a key role in promoting her inclusive haircare brand for children, My Little Coco.

Recalling her pregnancy whilst still performing in The Saturdays, Rochelle likened her experience to having a ‘hangover’.

She explained on the Ladies Who Launch podcast: ‘It was almost like I had a hangover, so I couldn’t talk about it, if I felt sick, I had to hide it and then even coming back, I remember having a single, five weeks after Alaia was born and I was on Lorraine and Good Morning Britain doing a performance and I remember my boobs leaking and I was squeezing myself into my Spanx.’

Rochelle also confessed that she now regrets not taking some proper time out to relax and connect with her newborn.

She admitted: ‘Now when I look back, I almost feel annoyed with myself, but I don’t think I really understood the impact of having a baby and what that meant to me and how I should have just let myself rest and getting my head around the whole experience.

‘But I was so scared of ruining it and is that the end of my career and how does that look that I just kept going.’

The Saturdays were formed in the summer of 2007 and disbanded in 2014, though at the time insisted to it was ‘break’ and not a ‘break-up’.

Just last month Rochelle sizzled as she enjoyed a family holiday in Marbella before the end of the summer holidays.

She looked amazing in the triangle top which she teamed with a matching wrap skirt.

Rochelle has recently been dragged into Myleene Klass and her former bandmate Frankie Bridge’s reported ongoing feud.

Radio presenter Myleene, 47, hit the headlines after accusing her former husband Graham Quinn of cheating on her with another celebrity, who she has refused to name, shortly before their 2011 wedding.

It was then claimed that Rochelle gave Graham a helping hand following the breakdown of the relationship.

A source previously told The Sun: ‘Rochelle was doing what she saw as looking out for a friend in a time of need.

‘Rochelle and Marvin are still clearly very much friends with Graham.

‘Myleene is of the view that Rochelle took sides from the beginning of her marriage breakdown.’

Graham, who worked as a tour manager for JLS, was recently snapped in a group picture on holiday with Rochelle and Marvin in Ibiza.
