Rochelle and Marvin Humes Spend £40k on Guard Dogs After Celebrity Break-Ins

Rochelle and her husband Marvin Humes have reportedly spent £40,000 on guard dogs after a spate of burglaries targeting fellow celebrity homeowners.

The TV presenter, 36, and the JLS star, 40, are said to have two Cane Corsos currently being trained by a firm that supplies guard dogs to a range of celebrities, including professional footballers.

Elite Protection Dogs, who are based in London, took to their Instagram this week to share a video of the canines being put through their paces in a dog-friendly gym.

Tagging Rochelle and Marvin in the post, the company captioned the clip: ‘heavyweights in the gym.’

The clip showed the pair of black canines in a gym space, with one running on a black running machine and another lying on a faux grass mat.

Rochelle and her husband Marvin already own a cockapoo and share three children, and are said to not be taking any chances when it comes to protecting their home and family.

According to The Sun, the dogs are trained to switch from docile family pets to aggressive guard dogs when an intruder is detected.

Last year, the couple revealed they are building their ‘forever home’ after moving out of their £3.3million north London family abode.

Rochelle shared the news on Instagram, admitting it was completely ‘out of the blue’, but that she was ‘so excited’.

The TV presenter explained how the couple had received an unexpected offer on their North London house and subsequently found a plot in an area they ‘have always loved’.

Admitting she ‘must be crazy’, Rochelle said the family will be living in a rental property for the next two years, joking that her and Marvin are ‘definitely a little bit gypsy at heart’.

Daily Mail has contacted Rochelle and Marvin’s representative for comment.

In recent years, celebrity burglaries have been on the rise – with Olivia Attwood and Bradley Dack, Jack Grealish, Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo, and Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright all recently falling victim.

Earlier this year, Olivia, 34, revealed she and husband Bradley, 31, were selling up and moving out of their £1.15million mansion after being burgled for a third time.

The couple, who married in 2023, have lived at the four-bedroom home since 2021, the year after she first showcased the home in the ITV series Olivia Meets Her Match.

A burglary gang targeted the property in July, which prompted her to share an emotional video on Instagram in which she condemned ‘scumbags’ who raided while she was working away in Spain at the time.

It comes as police last month announced they had closed their probe into a raid on England star Jack Grealish’s £5.6million Cheshire mansion back on Boxing Day 2023.

Now, safety advisors have told of the perils facing celebrities in Cheshire, especially the so-called ‘Golden Triangle’ featuring the county’s most expensive homes.

These include alarms raised about showing treasured possessions and properties online, with hawk-eyed criminals preying on information.

Former Royal Marines commando Richard Christian, who now runs security specialists firm BluSkills, told the Daily Mail how social media was ‘one of those modern challenges’, especially in its prolific use by wealthy high-profile figures.

He said: ‘You’ve got people who make a living out of having a high profile, being associated with high-value items often displayed, and that’s definitely a motivation for criminals.

‘This area of Cheshire you have a high concentration of such figures, and the attraction for burglars is exceptionally high.’

The Golden Triangle – five miles across and nicknamed after its three ‘points’ of Alderley Edge, Prestbury and Wilmslow – has long been a popular lure, especially for Premier League footballers.

Prestbury has a street with the highest average property value in northern England, £1.2million for homes in Withinlee Road, while the region’s highest-priced home put up for sale was one in Alderley Edge, advertised for £15million.

Golden Triangle residents have included David and Victoria Beckham, Wayne and Coleen Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kyle Walker and current Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk.

The home Olivia and Bradley now hope to sell is not far from the Golden Triangle, in the village of Bramhall, whose previous footballing residents have included Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Manchester United legends Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Paul Ince, Peter Schmeichel, Steve Bruce and George Best.
