Robert Irwin has provided an update on his sister Bindi Irwin’s health, just weeks after she revealed she is recovering from a 13-year battle with endometriosis.
The 21-year-old celebrity conservationist revealed his sister Bindi, 27, was making a steady recovery, as he worked at raising awareness of the issue.
‘She’s doing good. It’s an ongoing battle. Endometriosis is one of these things where it’s not a quick fix,’ he told E! News.
Bindi has undergone multiple surgeries after being diagnosed with endometriosis two years ago, a painful condition where the tissue lining the uterus also grows outside of it.
‘It is something that needs to be in the forefront of discussions,’ Robert added.
‘Women’s health throughout history – and even now – is just underdiscussed, under researched. We really need advocates to stand up and to get the word out there, men and women.’

Robert also revealed the influence Bindi has had on his upcoming stint on Dancing With The Stars US.
‘She said, “Just try and give it your all, but enjoy and make it your own”,’ he said.
‘And I’m excited to do that. I was so proud of her, watching her light up the ballroom. Proudest little brother in the world. That’s why I’m here, why I’m doing this.’
In April, Robert was revealed as the first contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars US, following his smouldering American ad campaign for Bonds.
The Aussie TV star was officially confirmed to be appearing on the show by Variety – and looked to be in great spirits as he landed in Los Angeles ahead of filming.
His appearance on the competitive dancing series will come a decade after his sister Bindi won the show in 2015 alongside her dancing partner Derek Hough.
Robert will need to be in peak physical health to successfully compete on the challenging competition.
In 2019, Bindi told The Project about the gruelling physical tasks the contestants face in order to perform well on the show.

‘It’s such a challenge. I don’t think people realise how much work goes on behind the scenes, it’s a huge commitment,’ she said.
During her time on the US version of the show, Bindi danced in front of a black-and-white portrait of her father, Steve Irwin.
‘What I think is so wonderful about DWTS is you get to share your journey, your story,’ Bindi said.
Bindi took to social media to share her excitement about her brother appearing on the show.
‘Robert, you are going to absolutely shine in the ballroom. I wish I could express the magnitude of how proud I am of you and everything you have achieved,’ she began.
‘Can’t wait to cheer you on each week as you inspire so many with your strength, kindness and determination. Here’s to an extraordinary journey ahead.’
