Robert Irwin professes his affection for girlfriend Rorie Buckey during a heartfelt encounter in New York City

Robert Irwin publicly declared his love for girlfriend Rorie Buckey on Monday, just months after the pair began dating.

Rorie, 19, shared a loved-up photo to Instagram capturing the couple sharing a tender moment while on a holiday in New York City.

Irwin is all smiles in the precious snap as he poses up a storm with his girlfriend against the scenic New York skyline.

‘R&R take on NYC!!’ Rorie wrote next to the photo.

Robert, 19, was quick to comment on the post, openly declaring his feelings.

‘I love you!!’ he wrote, alongside a love heart emoji.

Robert’s mother Terri, 59, soon joined the chorus, writing: ‘You two are so sweet’.

Robert and Rorie went Instagram Official in August, after months of rumours they were dating. 

It comes after Rorie reportedly completed an Irwin-approved ‘wildlife warrior boot camp’ before she and Robert became an official couple.

Woman’s Day claimed last week that Rorie had to win over the family by having a willingness to get out into nature.

The happy couple recently went on crocodile research trip together, where they uncovered ‘critical data’ for the Wildlife Warriors’ Worldwide foundation. 

Mother Terri and sister Bindi, 25, have since been impressed by Rorie’s dedication to Australian wildlife.

An insider claimed Rorie was ‘determined to not let Robert down and show him – and his mum and sister – that she’s not just some puff piece. And she blew them away.’

Irwin and Buckey both come from famous Australian families, as Robert is the son of late conservationist Steve ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ Irwin while Rorie is the niece of the late Oscar winning actor Heath Ledger.
