Robert Irwin has copped the wrath of vegetarians and vegans after appearing in a Twisties campaign.
The wildlife warrior, 20, stars in a new ad which asks snack fans to vote for their favourite Twisties flavour: Chicken or Cheese.
In the clip, Robert advocates for the chicken flavour while singer G Flip, 30, guns for cheese.
‘To all my chookstituants! I say chicken is the people’s Twistie!’ Robert says from a podium.
‘Cheese has carried chicken on its delicious shoulders for far too long! No more cluckin’ lies,’ G Flip adds.

The campaign has sparked backlash from vegans and vegetarians after it was shared to Robert’s Instagram page.
Chicken Twisties are neither vegan or vegetarian as the Australian snack lists at least three ingredients that derive from animals, including chicken fat and whey powder (milk).
‘Weird guy to get to do this kind of advert tbh,’ one user wrote.
‘Why are pushing for chicken if you are such an animal lover? No animals have to die for cheese,’ another commented.
‘How you gonna say you’re a conservationist and then promote a product that is made with chicken fat and milk? Make it make sense bro,’ a third wrote.
‘I’m honestly surprised that you aren’t vegan, or at least vegetarian @robertirwinphotography someone who loves and cares about animals like you should care about the animals in the meat industry too,’ another commented.
Meanwhile, many fans jumped to the zookeeper’s defence.
‘Sooo, because he’s an animal activist he has to be 100% vegan 100% of the time?’ began one fan.
‘His father loved a good lamb roast and eating meat sustains their bodies for the strenuous exercise and work they do throughout the day keeping the Australian zoo up to par,’ they continued.

‘I’m a zookeeper and an animal lover. I also love steak,’ another revealed.
‘I would hazard a guess that looking at nature every day means he has a very different concept of how the food chain works to yourself. When you see predator eat prey every single day, you probably see it as a part of nature,’ a third wrote.
‘As far as I’m concerned, the Irwins are Australia’s royal family,’ one said.
‘His literal entire job is wildlife conservation just like his dad. And this is a commercial like dude lighten up. Robert isn’t allowed to do ANYTHING else unless it’s strictly conservation??’ another user added.
