Robert Irwin has taken to social media with a heartbreaking announcement.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, the conservationist, 20, broke the sad news to his fans.
‘Hi guys, very sad news to report. Unfortunately our gorgeous chicken Nacho, who I know you all fell in love with, and we love so much, sadly passed away.’
‘She was a beautiful old chook who lived a lot of great years and we’re really really really sad to lose her.’
Robert then introduced two new additions to the Australia Zoo family: chickens Waffles and Mochi.

‘Welcome to the family,’ Irwin captioned the post.
It comes after Robert’s sister Bindi took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message to her loving ‘Khaki crew’ family.
The wildlife warrior, 25, who is the daughter of the late ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin, posted a photo of the conservationist clan over the weekend as they came together for a happy family snap.
In her caption, Bindi said she could ‘could spend a lifetime counting all the ways they (her family) are special to me,’ before moving on to individual tributes.
Bindi started by sharing loving advice for her younger brother Robert, 20, following his recent split from girlfriend of two-years, Rorie Buckey.
‘I am beyond proud and thankful to be your sister. Being part of your life as you have transformed into the kind, hilarious, strong, fun person that you are’, she wrote.

‘I’ll be cheering you on forever, and always here to remind you to take care of yourself as you take on the world,’ she wrote.
Her husband Chandler Powell was up next.
‘My sunshine every moment of the day …. watching you become the most caring and thoughtful Dad has been such a blessing. Raising our beautiful Grace together is something I cherish with my heart and soul,’ she added.
This was followed by the family matriarch, Terri, 59.

The wildlife warrior also shared this group photo with her family members including daughter Grace Warrior, and two other workers from Australia Zoo
‘Mum – the reason we are all here today, standing up for wildlife conservation and continuing Dad’s legacy, it’s because of you.’
‘As a wife and mother now myself, I can only begin to imagine the heartache and the difficulty you faced after Dad passed away. The fact that you keep his legacy going flawlessly AND have been there for me and Robert every moment – that is astounding,’ she wrote.
Bindi finished the post writing: ‘My beautiful family – I love you with all my heart. For all my days.’
