Robert De Niro revealed that he celebrated his daughter Gia’s first birthday by throwing a ‘sweet’ party.
The 80-year-old actor welcomed his youngest child, whom he shares with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen, in April of last year, making him one of the oldest fathers on record.
The Taxi Driver star recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight and told the media outlet that his family threw a celebration to commemorate his daughter’s special day last month.
De Niro recalled that his family presented Gia with ‘a little cake, it was very nice, sweet.’
The Academy Award-winning performer went on to speak highly of his youngest child and opened up about the positive impact she had made on his life.

‘Well, she’s pure joy, there’s nothing about her, there’s no judgement, there’s no anything, she just is what she is and it’s just pure joy for god sakes,’ he said.
De Niro is a father to seven children, with his adoptive daughter Drena, 51, being the eldest of his brood.
He shares the filmmaker with his former wife Diahnne Abbott, with whom he welcomed his oldest son Raphael, 47, in 1976.
The star of The King Of Comedy later welcomed his twin sons Julian and Aaron, 28, via surrogate in 1995, and he shares them with model Toukie Smith.
The performer went on to marry Grace Hightower, and they share a son and daughter named Elliot, 25, and Helen, 12.
De Niro has also become a father to four grandchildren, one of whom passed away last July, through his offspring.
The Goodfellas star opened up about parenthood during an interview with The Guardian, during which he stated that he had learned to embrace the uncertainty of raising children.
‘It’s always good and mysterious and you don’t know what the hell is going to happen,’ he said.
