A DISTURBING 911 call has captured the moment dispatchers begged for more help after discovering the bodies of director Rob Reiner and his producer wife Michele Singer.
The couple’s son Nick has been arrested after the couple was found in their Hollywood home with their throats horrifically slashed, the New York Times reported.
A dispatch call captures firefighters asking for backup after discovering the scene at Reiner’s house.
The audio, obtained by TMZ, does not describe the circumstances inside the house.
Police and emergency services rushed to the scene at 3:30 pm on Sunday after an emergency call was made.
The couple was discovered by their daughter, Romy, with lacerations consistent with knife wounds.
Romy told cops that a family member “should be a suspect” because they’re “dangerous,” TMZ reported.
Sources say an argument broke out between the couple and their son, Nick.
The Los Angeles Police Department has not officially announced Nick’s arrest, but was arrested on Sunday night and booked into jail on Monday, according to online jail records viewed by the NYT.
Nick, 32, has stayed out of the spotlight since he opened up about his struggles with drug addiction and homelessness in 2016.
Reiner and Singer’s deaths were confirmed by a family spokesperson, who stated: “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
LAPD Captain Mike Bland confirmed that cops are investigating an “apparent homicide”.
LAPD Deputy Police Chief Alan Hamilton told reporters on Sunday night that there was no sign of forced entry into the home, and multiple family members were being interviewed.
Reiner, 78, was famous for his acting and directing work.
He began his career starring as Michael ‘Meathead’ Stivic on the iconic sitcom All in the Family for eight years.
He then directed the 1984 cult classic This Is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride in 1987, and When Harry Met Sally in 1989.
In recent years he starred as Jordan Belfort’s dad in The Wolf of Wall Street alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and made an appearance on The Bear this year.
The production company Reiner co-founded, Castle Rock Entertainment, produced the hit sitcom Seinfeld and the critically-acclaimed film The Shawshank Redemption.
