Rob Reiner and wife Michele’s final holiday card is delivered to close friend weeks after their brutal murders

A close friend of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Reiner has revealed she received one of the couple’s final holiday cards just days after they were killed.

Neda Soderqvist shared the emotional update on Instagram on Monday, explaining that the handwritten card arrived unexpectedly in the mail following the couple’s devastating deaths.

‘Today in the mail was a card from Michele and Rob Reiner!’ she wrote. ‘Even from heaven, they are still making sure that everyone receives their bonuses.’

Soderqvist said what touched her most were the personal notes Michele had written, recalling that each time Michele sent her a bonus, she insisted it be used for herself rather than given away.

‘She knew me so well,’ Soderqvist continued, adding that she plans to keep $100 from the money and donate the rest in Michele’s honor to a foundation she knew her friend loved.

She also vowed to continue Michele’s legacy and to be there for the Reiners’ children.

‘Thank you for being my best friend ride or die,’ she concluded. ‘Someone who taught me self-worth self-love and I will keep your legacy going forever and I’ll give you the oath that I’ll be here for your children.’

Alongside the post, Soderqvist shared a photo of the inside of the holiday card.

The printed message read: ‘May the holiday season bring peace, joy and love to you and yours.’

Beneath it was a handwritten note signed by both Michele and Rob.

‘Dear Neda – what can I say after all these years! We love each other, are mad at each other, and then just move on! And it always works out!’ the note read. ‘I hope you have a great holiday with your family who adore you – love Michele and Rob.’

In a separate tribute shared after their deaths, Soderqvist described the couple as family rather than friends, writing that she and Michele were inseparable for more than a decade.

She praised their kindness, generosity, and the ‘quiet acts of compassion’ Michele performed without seeking recognition.

Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead at their Los Angeles home on December 14.

The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner later confirmed both deaths were homicides caused by multiple sharp-force injuries inflicted with a knife.

Their bodies were cremated, and their remains were released to their eldest son, Jake, according to reports.

The couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, was arrested on the same day and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Prosecutors added special circumstances of multiple murders and the use of a dangerous weapon, meaning he could face life in prison without parole or the death penalty if convicted.

Nick made a brief court appearance earlier this month wearing an anti-suicide vest and did not enter a plea.

His arraignment was postponed to January 7, and he is being held without bail.

His attorney, Alan Jackson, urged the public not to rush to judgment, calling the case ‘a devastating tragedy’ for the Reiner family and stressing that complex issues remain under review.

Following the hearing, Rob and Michele’s children, Jake and Romy, released a joint statement asking for privacy and compassion as they grieve.

‘They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends,’ the siblings said, adding that they hope their parents will be remembered for the love, generosity, and kindness they shared throughout their lives.
