Rita Wilson Opens Up About Family After Loss

' second wife revealed how her relationship with their blended brood of four children has changed since the passing of her Greek mother Dorothy Tzigkou.

The 69-year-old actress-singer will 'never forget' the anguish of losing her 'best friend' in 2014 following a four-year battle with disease.

'I thought I had asked her everything that I could possibly want to ask her, still there's things I wish I had asked her, that I wish I had known,' Wilson (born Margarita Ibrahimoff) said in her People cover story on Wednesday.

'For my kids nowadays, I'm probably a bit more unfiltered with them. I just tell them things all the time, and we usually get a lot of laughs out of it.'

The Jury of One songstress just released a music video for her new single Your Mother, featuring Super 8 footage of Dorothy, in which she sang: 'I know it's hard for you to see / There was someone else she used to be.

'If you listen you will learn / Every time the seasons turn / That you'll never have another / Your mother.'

Wilson hopes everyone will call their mothers and ask them questions, because it really about 'that desire to just feel that you're really known, that there's no barriers to being with your family and with your children in that way, so that you can be honest.'

The Last Thing He Told Me guest star and her 68-year-old husband's son Chet Hanks recently moved to the Jayco Eagle RV trailer park in Nashville, Tennessee while pursuing his country music dreams alongside his Something Out West bandmate Drew Arthur.
