Dancing On Ice fans jumped to Ricky Norwood’s defence during Sunday’s episode, complaining he’d been ‘stitched up’ with his routine.
The former EastEnders actor, 40, was said to have stormed out of training this week after just 15 minutes having had a furious argument with his professional skating partner Annette Dytrt on Thursday.
Viewers said they were not surprised Ricky was miffed as they took to social media during the show, after the former soap star performed in Lederhosen to, what Ricky described as, ‘a German folk remix’ of the song YMCA by Village People.
Shouting ‘oh, come on’ as he was awarded his points by the judges, Ricky seemed disappointed despite achieving 24 out of a possible 40 overall, his highest score of the series so far.
He was given a score of six by both Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse, 6.5 by Jayne Torvill and 5.5 by Christopher Dean, with Christopher telling him: ‘You had the flavour of the Bavarian dance,’ while Ashley said he was dressed as a ‘style icon’.

‘I feel like they did Ricky dirty,’ wrote someone else, while another viewer remarked: ‘The routine wasn’t up to much and the music was awful but Ricky is doing his best to improve and he skates on his own.’
Comparing him to former Love Island star Amber Davies, someone else wrote: ‘Thought Ricky deserved higher score he did a lot of skating on his own – I appreciate lifts take some work but Amber barely skated in comparison.’

It comes after it was reported Ricky stormed out of rehearsals this week after an argument with his professional skating partner Annette.
A source told The Sun: ‘Ricky was trying to work on his posture but Annette was getting frustrated that he was not grasping it.
‘He felt that Annette was treating him like a kid and was clearly frustrated at her lack of patience.
‘Ricky stormed off the ice and threw his skates off in a rage while shouting “I’m done” and “f*** this”.
Ricky reportedly stormed out of Dancing On Ice training and threatened to quit the show this week
‘Annette is a perfectionist and wants to shine on the show, given that it is her first series.’
MailOnline contacted ITV for comment.
Ricky was axed from playing Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb on EastEnders back in 2015, after five years on the soap.
He was suspended for two months in 2015 when photos of the star ‘smoking marijuana’ on Skype emerged, amid reports he also performed a sex act while naked during the video conversation.
A spokesman for the BBC show said at the time: ‘We can confirm Ricky is leaving. We wish him all the best.’

BBC bosses decided to suspend Ricky from filming for two months when the incriminating pictures of him first came to light, while the London-born actor apologised for his actions.
Ricky won the award for Best Newcomer for the role in 2010 at the Inside Soap Awards and was named Most Popular Newcomer at the 2011 National Television Awards.
The actor made a cameo appearance as Fatboy in a flashback episode surrounding the return of Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) last year.
