Richard E Grant surprised Edinburgh festival visitors when he turned up to support his old pal Miriam Margolyes during a trip to Scotland.
Miriam and Richard first met when they filmed Academy Award winning film Martin Scorsese’s Age of Innocence in 1993.
Miriam, who is currently starring in the Edinburgh fringe production of Margolyes & Dickens: The Best Bits, was thrilled to see her old pal Richard and after her naughty Q and A where she talked about difficult costars, politics and her best sex, at the show, chatted with him at the Pleasance EICC venue.
Saltburn star Richard said afterwards: ‘I saw my pal Miriam Margolyes in her wonderful show Dicken’s Women by Fane Productions in Edinburgh today.
‘We worked together on Age Of Innocence directed by Martin Scorsese in the last Century and been friends ever since.’

Richard also popped in to see the cast of all female football show Singing I’m No a Billy, He’s A Tim.
Actress Rachel Ogilvy who posted a picture with him in her social media said: ‘Met Richard E Grant today! SWOON!’
Richard has been hanging around the festival for the last five days after initially heading to North Berwick for the Fringe By the Sea festival.
He also visited the cast of brand-new comedy play Boardroom up to the Edinburgh Fringe, and posed for pictures with writer and director Cici Hughes, and the cast.
The teetotal actor who is allergic to alcohol, also enjoyed an ice cold coffee when he turned up at the Mashhouse in Edinburgh to watch the Cold Brew comedy show.
Withnail and I actor Richard recently joined Billy Magnussen and Isaac Powell on set at the Leaderfoot Viaduct, near Melrose, where filming began on new HBO series The Franchise.
The Marvel satire is being directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes and sees characters as superheroes.

Away from the screen, Miriam had a huge career in theatre, having starred in the likes of Wicked over the years and started out at the Edinburgh Fringe more than 50 years ago.
These days, Miriam is known to audiences for her part in the Harry Potter film series as Professor Sprout.
She also recently revealed that she had made hundreds of thousands of pounds on Cameo filming personalised messages for fans.
But she has also had a huge career in theatre, having starred in the likes of Wicked over the years and started out at the Edinburgh Fringe more than 50 years ago.
She joked: ‘I can’t remember what they were, but I was very good in both of them.’
