Now Richard Curtis’s daughter Scarlett, 29, is carving out a screenwriting career of her own and has landed a new top job.
The nepo baby, whose mother is the broadcaster Emma Freud – niece of the late painter Lucian Freud – confirmed on Thursday she penned the script for an adaptation of We Were Liars.
The American psychological thriller is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by E. Lockhart and is set to be turned into a major TV series in June.
Alongside a series of snaps from the past year, she wrote on her Instagram: ‘It’s still absolutely surreal that I got to spend a year of my silly little life writing the TV show for one of my favourite ever books.’
Scarlett had previously only written one episode for TV – for Amazon series The Summer I Turned Pretty – in 2023.

Scarlett got an early taste of the spotlight aged just seven when she landed a cameo in her father’s film Love Actually, as Lobster Number 2 in the school nativity concert.
Richard also wrote Bridget Jones’s Diary, Four Weddings And A Funeral and The Mr Bean Movie in a stellar career.
She said she spent a year penning the new show, which will be released on Amazon Prime next month.
‘It did in fact nearly kill me but the show is going to be awesome,’ she added.
She’s not the only nepo baby involved in the project.
Meryl Streep’s daughter, Mamie Gummer, and Ewan McGregor’s daughter, Esther, have landed starring roles – as has Emily Alyn Lind, daughter of One Tree Hill star Barbara Alyn Woods and Hollywood producer John Lind.
The series, made by The Vampire Diaries creator Julie Plec, tells the story of a young woman struggling to piece together memories of a fateful summer after suffering a head injury.
It unfolds as she and her close-knit group navigate a world of privilege, secrets, and ultimately, tragedy.

Of her time writing for the second series of The Summer I Turned Pretty two years ago, Scarlett told The Mail: ‘It was truly my dream job.’
Despite consulting her dad for advice, Scarlett adds: ‘I like to go quite deep and emotional, and he always thinks that’s a bit indulgent and wants there to be more jokes.’
The same year, she revealed that the ‘anxiety dog’ she bought to help her cope with mental health struggles is now facing issues of its own, after recently being diagnosed with OCD.
She said the toy poodle, Betty, is having problems settling in to the new £1 million Notting Hill flat bought for her by her father and mother.
Scarlett said: ‘Betty is a real oddball. She was diagnosed with OCD and she still can’t climb down the stairs.’
