Rhian Sugden has admitted that she’s gone into ‘full meltdown’ after her recent smear test found ‘abnormal cells’.
The glamour model, 38, said she had gone to the cervical cancer screening and was left ‘freaking out’ when the results came back and she needed further tests.
She must now have a colposcopy which is to take a closer look at the cervix and if necessary a small biopsy may be taken.
Posting on her Instagram on Tuesday night while posing with her dog she said: ‘A Smear Overshare ✨ Always been the one banging on about ‘don’t fear the smear’ as it’s only five minutes that could save your life.
‘But today… I’m eating my words. I’ve just my results back this morning from my latest smear and they’ve found abnormal cells and I’m secretly freaking out.
‘Now I’m on a waiting list for a colposcopy appointment (hello endless NHS waiting lists). I’ve had this once before in my early 20s and needed treatment then, so of course my brain’s gone into full meltdown mode.

‘I know this is exactly why smear tests are important, so they catch things early, but right now I’m stressed out and just needed to share. If you’ve been putting yours off, book it. We can be scared and still show up for ourselves
‘Anyway… having a mini wobble. Send wine, snacks and dog pics pls. #SmearOvershare #DontFearTheSmear #CervicalScreening.’
Cervical screening tests involve checking for an infection called human papillomavirus (HPV), which is the precursor to some 99 per cent of cervical cancers.
During a cervical screening exam, a healthcare professional takes a swab of cells from inside the cervix to look for HPV.
If the virus is detected, further lab tests are performed to check if the cells appear abnormal – and potentially cancerous – under the microscope.
If abnormal cells are found, women will be called back for a procedure called a colposcopy, whereby the cervix is examined further.
Most of the time HPV is harmless. But a handful of the 150 strains can, in some cases, invade the genital tract where it causes cells to mutate and turn cancerous.
Girls have been vaccinated against HPV at the age of 13 since 2008, and boys of the same age since 2019.

Rhian has recently been showing off the results of her breast reduction surgery.
She went from a 32HH to a 32E cup size after going under the knife in June.
Rhian revealed that she underwent the reduction after her F-cup boobs began making walking ‘unbearable’.
Sharing before and after videos of her breasts pre and post surgery last month, Rhian looked incredibly confident and happy with the results.
She wrote: ‘Love love love my boobs. No implants, just a reduction and uplift by the amazing Dr Hussain @pallmallcosmetics❤️’
In a clip posted on social media before going under the knife, Rhian revealed her nipples were in fact 11cm lower than they should have been after ‘gravity took its toll’ following the birth of her son George, one.
She said: ‘I’m a bit paranoid about that and I just can’t wait to have them a bit smaller, perkier, uplifted, it’s so exciting.’
Rhian continued: ‘My cup size at the minute is a 34GG, I can fit into a H, and it’s just so difficult to buy a decent bra these days.
‘Bikinis, I can’t even find one to get into because my frame is so small and my boobs are so big so it’s quite difficult. My back ache, ugh, honestly I must have to get a massage like once a week to try and ease the pain and tension in my back.
‘I swim a hell of a lot and I think because my boobs are so big, when I swim my back arches up because they push out the water.
‘So even swimming is difficult for me at the moment, not to mention not being able to get into a swimsuit. Having this reduction is literally going to change my life.’
Despite Rhian being happier than ever with her new figure, she revealed she had been inundated with messages from trolls criticising her decision.
In an Instagram Story she hit back at her critics as she revealed she had no concern with scarring and that she couldn’t understand why anyone felt the need to comment on her decision.

She added in a cheeky quip that the comments were coming from men who were ‘never going to touch or be near her breasts’, so it didn’t concern her.
Giving an update on Instagram earlier this month post-surgery, Rhian revealed how she has already improved her swimming due to her much more ‘streamlined’ figure.
While Rhian previously shared how her husband Oliver Mellor was ‘gutted’ over her breast reduction, he’s now comparing her to Pamela Anderson.
Speaking to The Sun post-op, she beamed: ‘Oliver was a bit nervous at first because he likes big boobs and he was worried about the scarring.
‘But he can’t believe how well they’ve turned out. He’s very pleased with them. He says I look like Pammy [Anderson] again because they’re so perky.
‘They look good and they’re still a good size. A decent handful for him.’
