Revealed: Some Married At First Sight stars are 'actors', with one seeking 'TV work' before joining the show

Married At First Sight is supposed to be a reality series about ordinary people finding love.

But this year’s season has a hidden side – with several participants secretly being part time actors or working in an area of show business.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal a handful of contestants – including fan-favourite Lucinda Light and innocent groom Collins Christian – have had experience as performers.

Despite claiming to be a 28-year-old Executive Assistant, Collins has appeared in television commercials.

The MAFS fan-turned-contestant, who had been attempting to be cast on the show for several years, appeared in an Ashley and Martin hair loss ad in 2022.

Sharing the clip to his Instagram, Collins revealed he was cast as ‘Raja’ for the brief stint.

‘Watching the World Cup and seeing your own mug on National TV for the 1st time….strange but also kinda cool!!’ he wrote in his caption.

On a resurfaced post from her LinkedIn profile, the bubbly bride put out a call to expand her career in television.

‘I am looking for incredible roles as an MC or TV presenter and would appreciate your support,’ she wrote in 2022.

TV insiders told Daily Mail Australia last year that Ben’s journey to the altar on MAFS wasn’t his original destination.

‘Ben was tipped to be the next Bachelor,’ one source revealed. ‘He was convinced he had bagged the role and even cancelled several tours and holidays he had planned with friends.’

The plot thickened when, according to insiders, Warner Bros. pulled out at the last minute, leaving Ben’s reality TV dreams in limbo.
