Resurfaced interview reveals Jules Neale REJECTED future husband Lachie when they first met

Jules Neale was not keen on the man she would later marry when she first met him, a resurfaced interview has revealed.

The WAG, 35, who is embroiled in a painful, high-profile split with the AFL player, rejected Lachie Neale, 32, when they were introduced when Lachie was a teenager.

Speaking to Perth Now about their relationship in September 2019, Lachie recalled how they were introduced by a friend almost a decade ago, when he was just 18.

Jules apparently rejected her future husband at the time because of his boyish looks.

‘The first time I met Jules I was 18 and I asked Pav [teammate Matthew Pavlich] to introduce me to her,’ Lachie said.

‘He came back and said, “She’s not interested in an 18-year-old Harry Styles lookin’ kid”.’

It wasn’t until ‘about six years later’ that the pair reconnected and became romantically involved.

The couple got engaged in 2017 and married the following year.

They relocated from Perth to Brisbane after getting married, when Lachie switched teams from Fremantle to the Lions after seven seasons.

The Brisbane Lions midfielder dedicated his 2020 Brownlow Medal win to Jules.

‘My wife Jules, she’s an amazing human being,’ he said in his emotional acceptance speech.

‘Not many people probably know but she owned a salon in Perth before we decided to move to Brisbane. She had to sell that to come over here and follow my dreams.

‘She was doing very well for herself over there but she always puts me ahead of herself when she shouldn’t have to.’

The fairytale romance ended in tears last month.

Footy fans were stunned after Jules publicly announced she had experienced the ‘ultimate’ betrayal and launched a stunning social media attack on the couple’s friend, former Mormon missionary Tess Crosley, a few days before Christmas.

Neale demanded Crosley remove photos of the Brisbane Lions’ grand final celebrations.

The now-deleted comment, which was captured in screenshots, shows Jules writing: ‘Take these down, you idiot, you’re embarrassing yourself.’

Neale then denied news reports she was ‘working through’ issues with her now ex-husband and instead alleged she had been ‘betrayed in the most unimaginable way’.

‘I want to make it very clear that I am not ‘working through’ anything,’ she wrote.

‘I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.’

There is no suggestion from the Daily Mail that Crosley has done anything improper.

Crosley’s husband, Ben has travelled to Bali with several of his friends after he became entangled in the marriage saga.

He was photographed at the luxurious Bambu Fitness centre in Uluwatu, having completed a fitness session with his friends Tom Bennallack and Seth Mutton.

The finance director, who works for the Hong Kong-based New Heritage Investment company, was seen smiling for a shirtless photo with his two friends after the workout, with Bennallack sharing the snap on his Instagram Story.

Ben and Tess Crosley are understood to have married back in 2017.

Lachie told reporters last week he was ‘deeply sorry’ after wife Jules relocated back to Western Australia with the couple’s two children following the bombshell split.
