White Lotus star reveals the shocking storyline CUT from hit show after Trump’s re-election

The White Lotus star Carrie Coon just revealed a shocking storyline involving her character Laurie Duffy that creator Mike White cut from his critically-acclaimed hit HBO show following the November 5th re-election of President Donald Trump.

The 44-year-old actress filmed her role as corporate lawyer and recent divorcée from New York on the Thailand set between February 2024-August 2024, and she shot a scene where Laurie hinted that her troubled daughter Ellie was transgender or non-binary.

‘You see Laurie struggling to explain it to her friends, struggling to use they/them pronouns, struggling with the language, which was all interesting,’ Carrie told Harper’s Bazaar last Friday.

‘It was only a short scene, but for me, it did make the question of whether Kate [Bohr] voted for Trump so much more provocative and personally offensive to Laurie, considering who her child is in the world. But the season was written before the election.

‘And considering the way the Trump administration has weaponized the cultural war against transgender people even more since then, when the time came to cut the episode down, Mike felt that the scene was so small and the topic so big that it wasn’t the right way to engage in that conversation.’

Coon was referring to a key scene in the March 2nd episode where the Texan country club wife played by Leslie Bibb confessed to her childhood gal pals that she was an ‘independent’ who likely voted for Trump and then witnesses the pair gossiping about her politics behind her back.

The White Lotus star Carrie Coon just revealed a shocking storyline involving her character Laurie Duffy that creator Mike White cut from his critically-acclaimed hit HBO show following the November 5th re-election of President Donald Trump

‘I love that it’s confronting. I love that it can even be off-putting. I like art that’s a little bit off-putting,’ the real-life Democrat said.

‘That’s why it’s fun to watch Mike’s characters. They’re not just one thing. Mike White grew up in the evangelical church. He grew up in some pretty specific communities, some of which were maybe not as welcoming to him, ultimately.

‘His father wrote a very influential book about what it was like to come out as a gay man himself in the evangelical church as an adult, which a lot of young men have read and was a very meaningful text for them in their own journeys. So Mike doesn’t shy away from challenging cultural conversations, and I really appreciate that about his work.’

Carrie considers ‘The Blonde Blob’ – consisting of Laurie, Kate, and Jaclyn Lemon (Michelle Monaghan) – the most ‘relatable’ of season three.

‘It’s the one piece of the puzzle that everybody has some relationship to,’ Coon noted.

‘The other stuff may feel far from people’s own experiences, but I think everybody has some idea understanding of female friendship, whether it be personally or culturally.’

The two-time Emmy nominee said if the three gal pals had just been honest about where they were in their lives and how they were feeling they would’ve had a very different vacation.

‘But they didn’t. They kept up the the performance. No relationship can survive that lack of honesty,’ Carrie explained.

Caitlyn Jenner joked about being ‘more masculine’ than Tim Walz after he claimed that his manhood ‘scares’ MAGA supporters.

Failed vice presidential candidate Waltz, 60, was roasted online Wednesday, after appearing on Gov. Gavin Newsom’s new podcast to talk about the future of the Democratic Party.

On the podcast Walz recalled the attacks on his masculinity from Republicans during the 2024 election, and said he could ‘kick most of their a***s.’

However Caitlyn, 75 — who announced to the world she was transgender in 2015 and changed her name from Bruce to Caitlyn in September of that year — was not convinced.

The retired Olympic gold medal winner took to X writing, ‘I am more ‘masculine’ than this [clown emoji] Gov Walz.’

Walz and Newsom had a discussion about President Donald Trump’s appeal to male voters and the struggles Democrats had with how they were portrayed in the media.

Failed vice presidential candidate Waltz, 60, was roasted online Wednesday, after appearing on Gov. Gavin Newsom’s new podcast to talk about the future of the Democratic Party

‘I think I scare them a little bit, why they spend so much time on me,’ Walz said, as Newsom burst out laughing.

‘No, I’m serious, because they know I can fix a truck, they know I’m not bulls******g on this,’ Walz said.

Walz admitted that the Trump campaign convinced voters that Democrats were weak.

‘I saw it from me, and not that I spend too much time thinking about this and it just baffled me how much time they spent trying to attack me that I was not masculine enough in their vision,’ Walz said.

He recalled previous attacks on his masculinity from Republicans, who mocked the way he waved, used a straw, and made public demonstrations of his hunting and mechanic abilities.

‘They focused on it obsessively, which I think again is their obsession, their weirdness, we buy their frame on these issues of sexuality,’ he said, recalling that people online attacked him for appearing ‘gay’ and ‘not masculine.’

‘I think I could kick most of their a***s’ he added.

Walz’s comments instantly drew mockery online, as people flooded to social media to mock him.

‘Only thing that scares me about Tim Walz is how he loads a shotgun,’ Shawn Farash responded on X, referring to Walz’s struggles with his gun while hunting during the presidential campaign.

‘Tampon Tim thinks he’s Rambo, but he’s really Elmer Fudd,’ wrote user Atlas Einstein on X.

In January, Caitlyn was brutally mocked for supporting Trump even after he signed an executive order recognizing only two genders.

Jenner, one of the most recognizable transgender women in the world, has backed Trump since 2016 and is a longtime Republican.

‘Congratulations Mr. President. Thanks be to God!’ Jenner posted on X the afternoon Trump was inaugurated.

The backlash was swift, with many people calling her ‘Bruce’, calling her a hypocrite for supporting a man who is so opposed to her community, and replying with pictures of her before she transitioned.

‘So Bruce how does it feel now that Trump signed an executive order that there are only two immutable genders, and your gender will need to be reflected accurately,’ one person wrote. ‘How’s it feel to be a guy again?’

Selena Gomez hits back at Senate candidate who called for her to be ‘deported’ for sympathizing with migrants

Selena Gomez has hit back at a Senate candidate who called for her to be ‘deported’ after she shared a tearful video sympathizing with Mexican migrants under Donald Trump’s regime.

The actress and pop star, 32, sobbed on camera in response to President Trump’s  mass deportations of undocumented immigrants – a policy he campaigned on ahead of the 2024 election.

She swiftly deleted the video, but sparked backlash from Republicans and MAGA supporters.

One of her most outspoken critics was U.S. Senate candidate Sam Parker, who called for Gomez herself to be deported in response to her video.

Gomez was born in the United States and is an American citizen. Her grandparents fled Mexico seeking a better life.

‘Deport Selena Gomez,’ he wrote on X alongside the tearful video.

On a separate account which he later shared on his professional profile, he added: ‘Selena Gomez picked illegals over America b/c she’s the 3rd gen descendent of Mexican illegals who received citizenship in the ’87 Amnesty.

‘She has an entitlement attitude toward America, like her illegal g’parents. Maybe Selena should be deported, too?’

Within hours the Disney child star responded on Instagram, writing: ‘Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat.’

Parker relished in the attention he received from Gomez’ fanbase, sharing her response and writing: ‘Inject their tears into my VEINS.

‘I dragged Selena Gomez pretty hard today.’

In her initial video, Gomez said: ‘All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.’

The Wizards of Waverly Place alum captioned the post: ‘I’m sorry [Mexican flag emoji].’

The sweeping raids across the country have seen violent criminals rounded up and sent packing on government flights at break-neck speed.

Spearheading the immigration overhaul is border czar Tom Homan, who issued a scathing response to Gomez’s video meltdown.

‘If they don’t like it, then go to Congress and change the law. We’re going to do this operation without apology,’ Homan told Fox News.

‘We’re gonna make our community safer… It is all for the good of this nation. And we’re gonna keep going. No apologies. We’re moving forward.’

Homan denied that children are being targeted and doubled down that the administration is working to deport illegal migrants with criminal records.

‘I don’t think we’ve arrested any families. We’ve arrested public safety threats and national security threats, bottom-line,’ he said.

‘President Trump won the election on this one issue – securing our border and saving lives. What happened on our southern border in the last four years is the biggest national security threat our county has seen, at least in my lifetime.’

Gomez also faced backlash from critics, who were quick to slam her for not using her reported net worth of $1.3 billion to take action herself.

Megyn Kelly also slammed the Emilia Perez actress, claiming she wanted to push an agenda that her fans disagreed with.

‘She deleted it after her fans taught her that the majority of the country stands behind these policies, but I’m sure she was shocked to get any blowback whatsoever,’ Kelly said.

‘She’s unwell. Obviously, this is an unwell person… And by the way, anybody who takes their phone works up in tears and posts a video of themselves crying into their phone is sick. That’s a sick person.

‘Tears happen. They tend to happen privately. If they happen publicly. I think you should quickly move on and recover, but I don’t understand the person who works it and tries to squeeze out more tears to make themselves look extra sad. ‘I’m really sad. I know I have hundreds of millions [followers], but I hate this country.”

The Trump Administration has quickly moved to ramp up deportations and arrest illegal migrants who pose ‘public safety threats ‘, specifically targeting sanctuary cities such as Chicago, San Francisco and San Jose – which bar cooperation between city police and immigration agents.

However, the president has reportedly been unhappy with the low number and has directed officials to meet higher detention quotas.

He ordered ICE to raise the arrest numbers from a few hundred a day to at least 1,200 to 1,500, according to The Washington Post.

Former President Trump took the stage and declared victory in the early hours of Wednesday morning, cementing an extraordinary political comeback.

Minutes earlier news organizations called the 2024 presidential race for him.

‘We made history for a reason tonight, and the reason is that we overcame obstacles that nobody thought possible,’ he said.

‘And it is now clear that we’ve achieved the most incredible political thing.’

The moment of truth came earlier when Fox News called Pennsylvania, the biggest of the battleground prizes, followed by Wisconsin and then the entire race in his favor.

The Associated Press had still not called the election for Trump, but he claimed victory onstage nonetheless.

He thanked his supporters and promised a golden age for the nation.

When he invited is running mate to the microphone, Sen. J.D. Vance said the result marked a remarkable turnaround in political fortunes.

‘I thank you for the trust that you placed in me,’ he said, ‘and I think that we just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America.’

Four years ago, Trump was a defeated man. Within months he had left Washington D.C. under a cloud after his supporters ransacked the U.S. Capitol.

Allies deserted him and he headed for exile at Mar-a-Lago.

On Tuesday night, he was surrounded by supporters, friends and family at his Florida home as he regained his crown.

He led them out on stage at the Palm Beach County Convention Center where he delivered his victory speech in front of hundreds more supporters who had waited hours to see him.

‘Most of all, I want to thank the millions of hard working Americans across the nation who have always been the heart and soul of this really great movement,’ he said.

‘We’ve been through so much together, and today, you showed up in record numbers to deliver a victory like really … probably … like no other. This was something special.’

The first big call was broadcast in the hall at 11:25pm, when North Carolina went to Trump.

The crowd’s energy went quickly from nervously excited to joy mingled with relief.

Shazam! Star Urges Conservatives in Hollywood to Speak Out for Trump

Shazam! star Zachary Levi has urged fellow celebrities in Hollywood who are voting for Donald Trump in the US presidential election to publicly speak out in regard to their support for the Republicans.

In an Instagram Live video last Sunday, the 44-year-old stressed that there’s a lot that he doesn’t like about Trump, 78, but following the end of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign, he’s turned his support to the former President.

Speaking passionately from what appeared to be a hotel room, Levi said: ‘My cry to all of you out there, you closeted conservatives, closeted Trump voters, y’all, it’s now or never, you know what I mean?

‘Do whatever you feel like you need to do. If you need to come out publicly and say it, if you feel like you still can’t, then don’t.

‘I would never pressure you to do that, but know that if what you’re afraid of is somehow the backlash of an industry that’s not going to exist very soon, then don’t let that hold you back,’ the Chuck star added.

Earlier on in the video, Levi said: ‘I have been very vocal about my dislike for [Trump]. He gets lost in his ego so quickly, I f**king despise it!’ before later saying: ‘He puts his f**king foot in his mouth all the time and I hate it!’

However, Levi stressed that it’s not enough for him to vote Democrat because there is ‘massive corruption’ in the current government.

‘It’s sh**ty that we only have two to choose from right now, but that’s all we have,’ he continued before claiming Kamala Harris is ‘only going to be puppeted’ if she wins the election on November 5.

When Levi first endorsed Trump publicly last month and described Hollywood as a ‘very very liberal town,’ Whoopi Goldberg spoke out live on an episode of The View and disagreed with his statement and claimed ‘it’s always been a very right-leaning town.’

Levi clapped back to this during his Instagram Live and pointed out that Goldberg, 68, was only able to name actors Jon Voight and Dennis Quaid as examples out of the thousands working in Hollywood today.

He also added actors like them seem to only come out as Republican when ‘at a certain level of your career to get away with it.’

‘And what that means is there’s plenty – and by the way, they have sent me lots of messages – plenty of people in my industry in Hollywood that are terrified to publicly say that they would vote for Donald Trump or be conservative in any way,’ he went on to say.

‘That’s why you don’t see them. That’s why they’re not very prevalent or prominent because they know that there’s ramifications for this kind of s**t.’

On September 28, Levi hosted ‘Team Trump’s Reclaim America Tour’ where he confirmed that he will be voting for Trump.

After his first pick, RFK Jr. dropped out of the race, Levi said that with the two options left, Trump ‘is the man that can get us there.’

‘This year, I found Bobby Kennedy,  and I thought, man this guy, this guy’s it,’ the Tangled star said.

‘And in a perfect world, whatever that would look like, perhaps I would have voted for Bobby, but we don’t live in a perfect world. In fact, we live in a very broken one.’

He continued: ‘We live in a country that has been hijacked by a lot of people who want to take this place way off the cliff. And we’re here to stop that, right?’

The crowd started cheering for the Hollywood star as he used Trump’s coined phrase: ‘We are going to make America great again!’

Actor Nick Offerman parodied the Lee Greenwood song God Bless the USA for a new song in support of Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign titled Proud to Be a Kamala Man.

The 54-year-old actor uses the lyrics of the parody of the 1984 Greenwood song – which Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump has used as his entrance music for events – to skewer Trump over a number of scandals he’s been involved in.

The Joliet, Illinois native introduced the clip while standing in a woodsy area, clad in a gray shirt baring an image of a bald eagle.

The Parks and Recreation alum saying that the song was penned to be from the perspective of a Republican voter who can no longer support the party’s candidate amid his numerous controversies.

‘I’m very enthusiastic to be supporting the presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz,’ said Offerman, who won an Emmy last year for his work on HBO’s The Last of Us. ‘For obvious reasons, there are a lot of Republicans that are very Kamala-curious.

‘Let me offer you a song that’s from the point of view of one of these Republicans, one of these good citizens, who formerly was blinded by misinformation and has now found a way to see clear to decency.’

Offerman said that ‘there are all these organizations of Republicans for Kamala, and it’s very exciting.’

The chorus of the parody is, ‘I’m proud to be a Kamala man, who’s quit the GOP/ I just can’t stick with the man convicted of 34 felonies.’

The chorus continues: ‘It’s time to stand up and face the facts after all the scams and tricks/ He’s a half-a**ed Putin wannabe, yes, Trump’s a f***ing d***.’

Another lyric references allegations Trump kept classified documents in random rooms at his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida.

‘Kamala’s got momentum, and that lady she’s no quitter/Plus, she never hid nuclear secrets in the Mar-a-Lago s****er,’ the song says.

The music video featured a number of clips of Trump’s more controversial moments, from his remarks on the war service of late Sen. John McCain to his mocking of a disabled reporter to his socializing with late convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

On Offerman’s YouTube page, in which the song was posted, the actor penned a description of the song parody.

He added, ‘Let this (probably) award-winning ballad salve the open wounds of right-wing hate and disinformation, and welcome you to the team of acceptance that comprehends we’re all sharing Mother Nature’s creation.’

Kid Rock challenges reporter to physical fight, uses racial slur and brandishes handgun while accusing Donald Trump of cheating at golf during erratic interview.

Kid Rock wielded a gun, hurled racial slurs, and instigated a physical altercation with a reporter, according to a new Rolling Stone article.

Writer David Peisner recalled the encounter in a piece published Sunday, following his interview with the country rapper in Nashville last month.

During the unhinged chat, they delved into topics ranging from immigration and Donald Trump to Kid Rock’s right-wing warrior persona.

As the drinks flowed and Kid Rock’s intoxication grew, Peisner described a tense moment when the musician abruptly produced a ‘black handgun,’ waving it before Peisner’s face in an apparent attempt to make a statement.

‘And I got a f****** goddamn gun right here if I need it!’ Kid Rock, who is also close friends with Donald Trump Jr, reportedly shouted. ‘I got them everywhere!’

The Cowboy hitmaker purportedly used the N-word multiple times, notably while asserting that Republicans were the ones who ‘freed the slaves.’

Writer David Peisner recalled the encounter in a piece published Sunday, following his interview with the country rapper in Nashville last month. During the unhinged chat, they delved into topics ranging from immigration and Donald Trump to Kid Rock’s right-wing warrior persona

Later, Kid Rock allegedly prevented Peisner from leaving his studio on multiple occasions, even asking if he was up for a fight at one point.

‘Do you think you could whup the sh** out of me?’ he allegedly asked Pesiner, who responded, ‘Probably not.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Kid Rock’s reps for comment.

The article maps Kid Rock’s evolution from his privileged upbringing in Detroit’s suburbs, residing in a lavish home with his conservative father, to his emergence as a driven rapper and libertarian figure.

Along the way, he vocally opposed GOP positions on topics like gay marriage and abortion before fully embracing right-wing politics.

In the chat, the singer wore a ‘This Bud’s For You’ hat, a year after posting a video where he tried to shoot up a case of Bud Light, seemingly upset over the brand’s support of trans social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

He claims to have shifted his focus away from the boycott of Anheuser-Busch, the parent company he once supported.

However, the article highlights that among the new entities in his crosshairs is Planet Fitness, the gym club which has become a subject of right-wing criticism for its inclusive policies toward transgender individuals.

Conservative social media users have called for a boycott of Planet Fitness after reports of a 2023 incident involving a man who allegedly exposed himself to a 15-year-old while in a women’s locker room.

Kid Rock also reportedly spent a considerable part of his interview defending his support for Donald Trump, whom he tried to telephone and referred to his ‘bestie.’

However, it’s said that the former President didn’t answer the call, sending Kid Rock to voicemail.

‘You think I like Trump because he’s a nice guy?’ Kid Rock added. ‘I’m not electing the deacon of a church.

‘That motherf***** likes to win. He likes to cheat in his f****** golf game. I want that guy on my team. I want the guy who goes, “I’m going to fight with you.”‘

Peisner also joined Kid Rock at one of the concert dates on his Rock’s Rock the Country tour, where the singer ranted about ‘open borders, high taxes’ and made a declaration that ‘Joe Biden can kiss my motherf****** Anglo-Saxon ass.’

In another tirade, Kid Rock appeared to echo Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric against immigration, calling some immigrants ‘murderers! They’re rapists! They are! MS-13!’

Later, as Peisner was departing, Rock told him, ‘Would you do me a favor? Just write the most horrific article about me. Do it. It helps me.’

He then added, ‘Will you tell everyone that I was halfway cool?’

Selma Blair abruptly departs from her agents at CAA and publicity team following controversial Islamophobic remarks.

Cruel Intentions star Selma Blair has parted ways with her agents at CAA and publicity team, following the fallout caused by an Islamophobic comment she made on social media earlier this month.

The 51-year-old star came under fire after eagle-eyed fans spotted her comment beneath an Instagram video on February 2.

Now sources have confirmed to DailyMail.com that the Legally Blonde star will no longer be represented by Creative Artists Agency, and has also stopped her partnership with the Narrative publicity team.

Changes have also been made to her management and legal representation as Blair is no longer a client of manager Troy Nankin at Wishlab or attorney Cheryl Snow at Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.

The Hellboy star is now represented by manager Ben Gaynor – who is also a manager at Wishlab – and attorney Joshua Reitzas at Berlandi Nussbaum & Reitzas.

The February 2 comment called for the deportation of Democratic representatives Cori Bush and Rashida Tlaib, deeming them ‘terrorist-supporting goons’ and asserting ‘Islam has destroyed Muslim countries’

The furor began when Blair commented on a video posted by Abraham Hamra, a Syrian, Jewish refugee who called out Squad members Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush for being the sole members of Congress to vote against a measure barring anyone who participated in the October 7 terror attacks from immigration to the US.

In a now-deleted comment, she wrote: ‘Thank you very much. Deport all these terrorist supporting goons. Islam has destroyed Muslim countries and then they come here and destroy minds.

‘They know they are liars. Twisted justifications. May they meet their fate.’

In the video, Hamra calls Tlaib – the only Palestinian-American member of Congress – a ‘liar,’ ‘moron,’ and ‘hateful antisemite.’

‘The truth,’ Hamra says, ‘is the Jews have been victimized by the Arabs, and not the other way around.’

Tlaib defended her ‘no’ vote by saying it is ‘redundant with already existing federal law.’

‘It’s just another GOP messaging bill being used to incite anti-Arab, anti-Palestinian, and anti-Muslim hatred that makes communities like ours unsafe,’ she said.

Days late, Blair issued an apology after the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights organization, condemned her statement.

The Legally Blonde actress, 51, claimed she 'mistakenly and inadvertently conflated Muslims with Radical Islamists and fundamentalists'

In a lengthy apology post, Blair attempted to reaffirm her support of ‘all marginalized communities’

Blair claimed that she ‘inadvertently conflated Muslims with fundamentalists’ as she wrote: ‘This is a time of great pain and anguish for many around the world, but it is also a time to learn and better understand how words matter.

‘In my comment, I mistakenly and inadvertently conflated Muslims with Radical Islamists and fundamentalists, a terrible err in my words, and resulted in hurting countless people I never meant to, and I deeply regret this.’

She highlighted the fact that she swiftly deleted the comment as she continued: ‘I erred in my writing and I fully recognize how I contributed to the Muslim community being understandably very upset. I respect and love all peace-loving communities, all over the world.

‘It was my Muslim friends who helped educate and show me the way. I am committed to paying forward their love and understanding. We cannot allow ignorance and rage to becomes (sic) our downfall.’

Blair ended the apology by reaffirming her support for marginalized communities and promising to ‘do better.’

Meanwhile, Blair was also blasted by a disability advocate who claimed the actress hung up the phone when she tried to confront her about her hateful post.

Maria Town, who is President and CEO of the American Association of People with Disabilities, took to Instagram to share her scathing comments.

She said that she had clashed with The Sweetest Thing star, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018, in a conversation that ‘did not go well’ despite having worked together previously.

Many social media users remarked that the statement seemed disingenuous and the star also criticized for posts she’d liked on X, formerly Twitter

Some critics pointed out that the apology failed to address her comments about Tlaib (left) and Bush (right)

She wrote: ‘I have read Selma Blair’s Islamophobic, racist, and hateful comments. Her comments are harmful and wrong.

‘Since she is someone I have worked with, I wanted to speak to her and call her in before sharing my thoughts publicly.

‘I reached out multiple times to her manager and to her to talk. I was finally able to speak with her today.’

Town, who is from Louisiana, continued: ‘The conversation did not go well.

‘She first acted as though she did not know what I meant and asked what I was talking about when I shared I was alarmed by her recent posts.

‘I referenced her posts, and directly repeated her words. I said, you can publicly disagree with people, including members of Congress, without being racist or wishing them harm.

‘The conversation ended with her telling me, “Maria, I wish you would think for yourself for once,” and she hung up on me.

‘As she has shared in the apology she posted recently, she told me that she meant to say “Islamiscists” and not “Islam.”

‘I responded that this change did not make her comments any less Islamophobic or racist. The conversation devolved from there.’

The post continued: ‘If she hadn’t hung up, I would have told her that you can support Jewish people without being Islamophobic.

‘In fact, you can support Jewish people and Muslim people at the same time.

‘Islamophobia, xenophobia, and racism have no place anywhere, especially not within movements for rights and justice or in efforts for inclusion.

‘Racist, nationalist systems create a false choice: the idea that another group’s presence is a threat to your own security and safety.

‘Using fear to justify further harm to people is no justification at all. Using fear for your own safety to justify islamophobia and racism does not make anyone safer or more secure. It only creates more fear.’

Town had even more to say as she concluded: ‘When people with high visibility and an ability to influence culture repeat Islamophobic and racist ideas, these systems become further cemented in our policy, in our society, in our minds.

‘When people like me, and by that I mean specifically white people who are raised or accultured within a Christina community, do not denounce Islamophobia and associated racism and hate, because we “don’t know enough” or “that’s not our issue,” we allow this hate to perpetuate and grow.

‘When people like me – those who have proximity to people like Selma Blair – do not call out hatred when we see it, whether in one on one conversations, public forums etc, we perpetuate harm.

‘Despite Selma’s assessment of me, I do think for myself, and I know that his kind of hate is never acceptable.’

In the wake of the uproar caused by her comment, Blair was also criticized for posts she’d liked on X, formerly Twitter.

These included vague statements denouncing ‘Antifa’ and ‘the woke agenda,’ as well as a viral conspiracy theory linking an early version of the new Minnesota state flag to Somalia.

‘Armed citizens don’t need legislation to defend themselves or their state/country. It’s our God-given right to do so,’ read one liked comment.

Other social media users pointed out that she’d liked other anti-Muslim comments including one calling Islam ‘the religion of evil, created in hell’ and another deeming it ‘a hatefull (sic) and violent sect.’

Blair’s account on the platform has since been deleted.

Rates of Islamophobia and antisemitism have skyrocketed in the United States since October 7, when Hamas militants flooded from the blockaded Gaza Strip into nearby Israeli towns, killing civilians and taking hostages.

The number of anti-Semitic incidents in the U.S. increased by 388 percent in the four weeks after October 7, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

Likewise, CAIR reported that the number of Islamophobic incidents in the U.S. increased by 216 percent during the same period.

Kim said: ‘Elizabeth Taylor was unapologetically herself, a fighter. She is proof that you can keep evolving and changing and have different chapters in your life – and she paved the way for all of us who came after her with that blueprint.’

Elizabeth’s close friend Dame Joan Collins, school friend Margaret O’Brien and close friend Carole Bayer Sager will also appear on the documentary.

Alistair Pegg, Commissioning Editor at the BBC added: ‘This exciting series promises a new understanding of Elizabeth Taylor – both her technique and power as an actor, and her capacity for reinventing herself.’

Elizabeth Taylor, one of the great Hollywood beauties, led an infamously scandalous life with many men and a mindboggling eight marriages.

But as the wife of a US senator living in the stodgy nation’s capital, the glitzy star became a ‘drunk and a junkie,’ according to Kate Andersen Brower’s Elizabeth Taylor: The Grit and Glamour of an Icon biography.

When Elizabeth was married to her seventh husband, Republican Senator John Warner of Virginia in the late 70s, she once summoned one of her adult sons from a previous marriage to her bedroom where she was clad only in revealing underwear.

‘She was pretty f***ed up on something. She was seated on the edge of the bed in her underwear and had a syringe of Demerol, [an addictive opioid] in her right hand,’ recalled Christopher Wilding, son of Elizabeth’s second husband, the British actor Michael Wilding.

‘She pointed to a spot on her thigh,’ and asked him to inject the needle. When he couldn’t, the Oscar-winning star ‘steadied her hand and plunged the needle into her flesh.’

During the Warner marriage, the gorgeous Elizabeth known for her seductive violet eyes and once spectacular figure – unhappy with her life as a senator’s wife in the ritzy and conservative Georgetown enclave – ate and drank so much that she ballooned 40 pounds to more than 170 pounds, igniting Warner to call her his ‘little heifer,’ writes Brower.

The marriage lasted six years – a relatively long time for eight-times married Elizabeth, who was in and out of marriages like a revolving door.

Her other turbulent marriages included a brief union with Paris Hilton’s great uncle, Conrad Nicky Hilton, film producer Mike Todd, crooner Eddie Fisher, and Richard Burton.

At 18-years-old, Elizabeth married her first husband Conrad Hilton and got her first four-carat diamond ring.

They honeymooned in Europe but the thrill was gone within just two weeks, when Hilton virtually abandoned her and went on a drink and gambling binge.

He soon became abusive and kicked her in the stomach causing a miscarriage.

In 1952, Taylor married the British actor Michael Wilding, who was 20 years her senior.

Because of the age difference the couple had little in common, so little that, according to the author, Taylor had an affair with Frank Sinatra, and got pregnant.

In 1957, the same year her marriage with Wilding ended, Elizabeth moved on quickly, marrying film producer Mike Todd and honeymooning in Acapulco, Mexico.

But 13 months after their March 1958 marriage, Todd was killed in a plane crash.

In 1959, the popular young crooner Eddie Fisher infamously ended his marriage with Debbie Reynolds and married Elizabeth.

Elizabeth had become famous at age 12 after playing the lead in the film, National Velvet in 1944, but she felt abused with the MGM studio system that addicted their young stars to pills – amphetamines and sedatives.

In all, Elizabeth made over 60 films, most for the silver screen and some for television.

Several times she came back from the dead from illnesses and suicide attempts and overdoses, heart attacks, three hip replacements, and more.

‘I’ve been through it all, baby. I’m Mother Courage. I’ll be dragging a sable coast behind me into old age,’ she said, according to the author.

In March 2011, Elizabeth Taylor suffered congestive heart failure, and died six weeks later.
