Drum and bass pioneer MC Conrad has died at the age of 52.
The artist, whose real name was Conrad Thompson, passed away earlier this month with no cause of death confirmed.
His death was announced in a statement by Clinic Talent who wrote: ‘We’re sorry to say that MC Conrad passed away in April 2024.
‘One of the most recognisable and best-loved voices in D&B, he leaves behind him an unmatched legacy.
‘Conrad will be deeply missed by all of us, and by all of you who were touched by his performances over the years.

‘He is universally recognised as one of Drum & Bass’s most pioneering and respected vocal performers, delivering an electrifying show each and every time.’
Conrad, from Northampton, became known on the rave scene in the 1990s, performing at warehouses and clubs across the UK.
He established Good Looking Records in 1991 with fellow DJ LTJ Bukem which helped popularise the drum and bass genre.
Conrad moved to Birmingham in 2010 where he remained until his death.
Some of his most well known tracks include Merchant Blessings and Words 2B Heard Meets the Western.
Several fans and friends of MC Conrad took to social media to pay tribute to him and send their condolensces to his loved ones.
Taking to X/Twitter, one user wrote: ‘RIP to MC Conrad whose voice was the soundtrack to such a giant portion of my life.
‘I could write a whole book about the adventures I’ve had road tripping to see him and Bukem while listening to Progression Sessions 4 in the car and being a weirdo raver when it wasn’t ‘cool’.’
