Two-time Big Brother winner Reggie Bird has taken to social media to beg Channel Ten to give her another stint on the show amid her chronic health issues.
The former fish and chip shop owner, 50. who won $250,000 on Big Brother in both 2003 and 2022, shared a post to Facebook revealing her joy at the Network reviving the long-running series after it was axed in 2024.
‘This is so exciting. Big Brother is coming back to where it first started on Channel 10. They want every day Aussies like me to be on it,’ Reggie wrote.
Reggie added: ‘I need a job, Channel 10,’ and posted a laughing emoji.
Meanwhile, a former housemate of the reality show responded to Reggie’s post in a now deleted comment, writing: ‘It’s not an ATM. Give someone else a shot at the cash mate.’
When Reggie first won the series in 2003 it was broadcast on Ten, but its original stint finished in 2008 and when she reappeared on the program in 2022 it was on Channel Seven.
After Seven canned the show in 2023, Ten later made the decision to revive it with new hosts and a rejigged format.
However, a former Big Brother producer refuted the suggestion of Reggie returning to the program for a third stint and said the show needed new talent.

‘It wouldn’t make sense to return her at this stage. The show need to find its own feet with new housemates,’ they said in a statement.
‘The trials and tribulations of the former Tasmanian has been heavily documented in the media and on her Facebook. With a number of set-backs with her health and struggles with her finances.
‘It was impressive that she came back to the show on a different network in a different era and managed to win over for a second time.’
They added that the tides had turned and Reggie would be unlikely to yet again win the program if she appeared on it a third time.

‘Another stint in the Big Brother house would hardly see the same result with many of her previous housemates sharing stories of her time on the Channel Seven series as less than inspiring.
‘There was a lot of regret from her previous housemates in 2022 that they gave her a free-pass in her second stint in the Big Brother house. With one participant claiming she slept through most of her time in the house during the AllStars Season.’
Upon winning the 2022 celebrity edition of the show, Reggie said the prize money would go towards paying rent to ensure she and her children had stable accommodation.
Reggie’s winnings have also helped cover her medical expenses, as she is legally blind after being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a rare degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment.
She also has Usher syndrome, a rare genetic disease that affects both hearing and vision.

Speaking to News.com.au, Reggie admitted that her daily life is difficult: ‘It’s definitely a challenge living with retinitis pigmentosa. Every day is a challenge.’
‘So I’ve just gotta try and make the most of every day, while I can see, because I’ve just got nine degrees of pinhole vision left, and don’t have any peripheral vision or night vision.’
Reggie said she recently battled ‘horrible depression’ because of her health woes and due to her son Lucas suffering from has cystic fibrosis.
