Rebel Wilson revealed she had a vision that she was going to be an actress while on anti-malaria drugs during a near-death battle with a disease.
During an apperarance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the Australian actress, 44, said she had been in Africa, specifically Mozambique when she fell in while in high school aged 19.
She said: ‘I went to live in Africa after high school in a gap year while working on a charitable program and she got malaria real bad, Rebel said.
‘I’m in the hospital hallucinating, and I lost my hearing because of the drugs that they gave me, and I’m hallucinating that I’m an actress and that I was really great and I won an Academy Award.
It was fully blown and I could see all the actors and actresses and I walked up on stage and then I gave an acceptance rap.’

‘And literally just my one best friend Nick thought I could be an actor. Nobody else did.’
‘He was so sweet he engraved a star with my name on it and said ”one day when you have a dressing room that you can put that on your door”,’ Rebel said.
‘It take one person to believe in you,’ Jimmy said. ‘Look at you now.’
Rebel has previously said that upon her return to Australia, Rebel auditioned for the National Institute for Dramatic Arts – only to be rejected.
The then-teenager was still trying to find her place in the world – and she then juggled a law degree and acting classes as she pursued her dream.
During the interview, Rebel also gushed about getting engaged at Disneyland while promoting her memoir on Tuesday on
She congratulated by Jimmy, 49, for her engagement to Ramona Agruma and for welcoming 17-month-old daughter Royce.
‘I got engaged to my Disney princess at Disneyland. We got engaged and I had a violinist playing Can You Feel The Love Tonight, there’s rose petals. It was very, very romantic,’ said Disney fan Rebel referencing the Elton John song from Disney’s The Lion King.
Rebel and Ramona got engaged in February 2023 at the Disneyland resort in Anaheim, California.
The couple went public with their relationship in June 2022, and Disney played a role in that as well, specifically in Wilson’s Instagram announcement.
‘I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess,’ Rebel posted with the hashtag #loveislove.
The couple welcomed their first child via a surrogate in November 2022, which Rebel announced on Instagram as well.
Jimmy said there were funny things in her memoir Rebel Rising such as the time when she wanted to be a rapper. Rebel said she created a demo with her sister with them rapping their original song titled When Skeleton’s Ruled the Earth and sent it out to record companies.
‘But no record company ever wrote me back,’ Rebel said.

‘I lost my virginity quite late in life, at 35,’ Rebel said. ‘Not a joke sadly.’
Rebel said she wondered later if she should put that in.
‘I feel like if I was reading someone’s memoir I’d just want to hear everything,’ Rebel said. ‘The things that might be embarrassing about them and the good things so I put them in.’
‘Apparently Queen Elizabeth I never had sex, ever,’ Rebel said. ‘I beat her.’
