Rebel Wilson has revealed that she did not feel ‘worthy’ of being loved before she met her now fiancée, Ramona Agruma.
The Pitch Perfect actress, 44, told The Project this week that her journey to self-love was a bumpy one.
‘I get a bit emotional about that because why does a girl feel like that? Just feel like not good enough and not lovable?’ she said.
‘And then, yes, there have been things that have happened in my life, not massive traumas, but little things that have led to me feeling that way and I didn’t feel lovable or worthy,’ she continued.
‘And that’s why I was eating all that crap and junk food late at night because I felt like I was trash and treating my body like trash.’

Rebel says that she processed her negative emotions after her father’s death and, after beginning her weight loss journey that saw her lose 36 kilos and led to her finding true love.
‘I was being able to have true intimacy with somebody and really let somebody in and that happened to be my partner’ she said.
Rebel also discussed the censored version of her book Rebel Rising, which is published in Australia with an entire chapter blacked out due to a legal battle.
‘Yeah, I mean so obviously behind the scenes that was something I was not happy about’ she told The Sunday Project.

‘I mean Australia is my home country, if anything I want my full story told and I will say … the book is not about that guy. I know there’s been a lot of media about it. But it’s not about that guy and it’s just my full life story.’
Rebel added that she was glad the book had been released so she could focus on her baby daughter.
‘So, at least it’s come out now. Being a new mum I didn’t want to have some lengthy legal battle for it to come out’ she said.
Although the book has already been published in the US, publisher HarperCollins Australia confirmed that Aussie readers will not be able to read the chapter.
‘For legal reasons we have redacted one chapter in the Australian/New Zealand edition and included an explanatory note accordingly,’ they said in a statement.
