Rebel Wilson has opened up about her bombshell claim that the lead actress on her upcoming movie The Deb was sexually harassed by the film’s producer.
The Sydney-born actress, 45, appeared on Channel Nine’s 60 Minutes on Sunday night and made the shock claim that actress Charlotte MacInnes, 26, was treated inappropriately by producer Amanda Ghost, 51, while in a shower.
‘I felt that in my position as director I had to report that, and the moment I did, it started all the retaliation against me,’ Rebel told the program.
Rebel claimed that Ghost had an adverse reaction to swimming in the chilly Bondi Beach waters and so jumped into a shower to warm up, after which lead actress MacInnes was asked to join her – and what happened next is in dispute between Rebel and the other women.
‘Charlotte MacInnes came to me and said, “Last night Amanda Ghost came to me and asked me to have a bath and shower with her and it made me feel really uncomfortable”,’ Rebel said.Â
‘One-hundred percent she told me that. She came to me and made what I inferred as a sexual harassment complaint.’

However, MacInnes and Ghost deny that anything ‘uncomfortable’ happened and refute Rebel’s version of events.
‘I never complained to Ms. Wilson or anyone else that Ms. Ghost “made me feel uncomfortable” or caused me any trauma whatsoever,’ MacInnes said in a statement.
Rebel also spoke out about claims she had launched an online ‘smear campaign’ to discredit Ghost, after several websites appeared online, making horrific claims against the producer.Â
‘Obviously, I had zero to do with the websites. I don’t even know how to create a website, I had nothing to do with what was on it,’ Rebel said.
‘I read it like a lot of people in the business did, but it is categorically false to say I had anything to do with it.’Â
In response to the claim that Rebel requested her publicist to create a series of ‘malicious’ websites with these claims, she said: ‘That is absolutely untrue.’Â
‘I read the websites and I think it is very interesting what is on there. I might have gossiped about it to friends,’ Rebel added.Â
The actress at the centre of an extraordinary legal spat between Wilson and the producers of The Deb has previously slammed the Aussie star’s claims she was sexually harassed on the set of the film.

Rebel was sued in July 2024 by producers Amanda Ghost, Gregory Cameron and Vince Holden, who allege she falsely claimed they had embezzled funds from the movie and had behaved with ‘absolute viciousness and retaliatory behaviour’.
In a countersuit, Rebel has accused the producers of sabotaging the film project, embezzling funds and sexually harassing the lead star.
In documents filed to the Los Angeles superior court and obtained by The Guardian, MacInnes claims she informed Wilson, who was the director of the movie, that she was never sexually harassed by one of the film’s producers, Ghost.
Despite informing Wilson this behaviour had never occurred, she allegedly still accused Ghost of sexually harassing and abusing MacInnes.
‘I was deeply disturbed by this behaviour by Wilson, who was the director of the film and in a position of authority over me,’ MacInnes alleged.
‘Nothing that I told Wilson could reasonably have conveyed that I was reporting any misconduct, because there was no misconduct.
‘I also understand [there were] claims that I was subjected to ‘depraved sexual demands’ and that ‘MacInnes remains captive by Ghost and (fellow producer) Cameron as she is shuttled from city to city with them, including Boston, New York and London’.
‘These statements are completely false and absurd. I have no idea what could cause Wilson and her attorney to make up such lies about me.’
The three producers of The Deb have filed a defamation lawsuit against the Australian comedian, slamming her claims as ‘fictitious’ and having ‘no basis in reality.’
They accuse her of bullying and falsely accusing Ghost of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ towards MacInnes, with Ghost noting in the defamation suit that the actress strongly denied being subjected to such when asked about Wilson’s claims.
A legal complaint obtained by DailyMail.com reveals the feud broke out following a series of disputes over writing credits and Wilson’s behaviour on the set of The Deb, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2024.
‘I never complained to Ms. Wilson or anyone else that Ms. Ghost “made me feel uncomfortable” or caused me any trauma whatsoever,’ MacInnes said in a statement. Pictured: Rebel and MacInnes at a cast party in 2023
