MAFS star James Susler has become embroiled in the wave of fire bombings that is currently gripping Melbourne

Emergency services were called to a car dealership owned by James, after it was set ablaze at approximately 4.50am on Tuesday

Speaking to Seven News on Tuesday morning, James said that the attack came as a complete surprise.

'What's it like inside?' reporter Andrew McCormack asked, to which James replied: 'I haven't been inside yet.'

Andrew then asked James if the dealership had been the subject of any threats in the lead-up to the incident.

'No, we know as much as you guys,' he said.

'But we'll move on from this,' James added. 'We'll get bigger and stronger and we'll persevere.'

Speaking to ABC Radio Melbourne, dealership manager Victor Sargin said the majority of the damage was smoke-related.

'It looks like they've poured some fuel on the floor [and] lit it up,' he said.

James rose to fame as a groom on the 2021 season of Married At First Sight, where he was partnered with Joanne Todd.

While he failed to find love with Joanne, it was a different story when it came to Alessandra Rampolla.

The groom shocked his bride during a commitment ceremony when he confessed his love for the MAFS expert.

An unimpressed Alessandra responded: 'I don't get the joke. I think it's incredibly disrespectful to Jo sitting next to you.'

'I was only joking… I was trying to lighten up the mood. Sorry,' James admitted.

Alessandra said: 'It's not a good joke.'
