Holly Hagan has revealed she has been fitted with hearing aids after years of ‘struggling’ to listen.
The 31-year-old Geordie Shore star detailed her shock health battle with her Instagram fans on Monday and shared she was overjoyed that she can finally hear.
Holly explained how she would lip read the majority of the time and would often feel ’embarrassed’ in the past when she couldn’t keep up with conversations.
In a video, Holly took fans through the process of getting her hearing aids fitted and stressed the importance of breaking the stigma of getting them at a younger age.
The mother-of-one said: ‘Finally getting my hearing sorted with Boots Hearingcare after struggling for over 7/8 years.

‘I’m ranked severe for certain sounds which explains why turning up the TV never helped.
‘I’ve worked so hard to decipher conversations and always felt embarrassed asking people to repeat themselves. I could tune into family but struggled with new voices in busy environments, often coming across as rude or uninterested.’
Holly revealed that Covid made her hearing ’10x worse’ because she wouldn’t be able to lipread, which she relies on, when people were wearing masks.
She added: ‘Covid made it worse since I realised I lip read and masks made it 10x harder. The difference with hearing aids was overwhelming but incredible. I’m starting at 70% to let my brain adapt.
‘There’s a stigma around hearing aids, but if you can’t see properly you wear glasses regardless of age, premature hearing loss can happen for many reasons. They also have great features like built in Bluetooth so I don’t need headphones anymore.
‘I would say to anyone who is struggling with their hearing to go Boots Hearingcare and get it checked, it’s honestly so worth it, my only regret is not doing this sooner.
‘If you’re over 50 you can get a free hearing test at Boots Hearingcare. If you’re under 50, you need to be referred by your GP for your free hearing test at Boots Hearingcare.’
Fans praised the reality star for opening up about her secret health battle and flocked to the comments to congratulate her for speaking out.
