Rumours are swirling that one of Brisbane’s most recognisable real estate power couples have quietly gone their separate ways.
After nearly a decade of marriage – and a headline-making wedding in the US – Ben and Samantha Wakely are believed to have ended their relationship, both personally and potentially professionally.
Ben, a former Queensland Reds player who later moved into real estate, and Samantha, his long-time business partner, created the highly-esteemed Wakely Properties in Paddington together.
But insiders say the pair may now be preparing to step back from the venture they co-founded.
Professionally, Samantha still lists herself as a co-founder and director on LinkedIn, yet her profile has vanished from the Wakely Properties website.
Adding fuel to the rumours is the couple’s recent decision to list their sprawling Toowong residence.

Rachael Spinks of Spinks & Co and Stephen Matthews from Wakely Properties are jointly managing the listing.
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom home sits on a 1,164m² north-east-facing block in Toowong, offering city and Mt Coot-tha views along with easy access to shops, schools and the CBD.
Spread across three architect-designed levels, the main living space features an open-plan layout flowing to an alfresco area, lawn and a Miele-equipped kitchen.
The main bedroom enjoys its own private wing, while additional bedrooms, a lower-level living area, pool deck, office, media room and extensive storage cater to family living.
With ducted MyAir, timber floors, an alarm system, and parking for several cars, this property offers both comfort and sophistication, complete with a sparkling swimming pool.
Ben and Samantha’s high-profile relationship first captured public attention when they married in December 2016 in a lavish ceremony in Carmel, California.
The event drew a celebrity-packed guest list, including Wendell and Tara Sailor, Channel 10’s Georgina Lewis and her then-husband Paul O’Brien, and former TV weather presenter Amanda Mahony and her partner Tim.

Fans have noticed a shift, however, as Ben – who often shared loving tributes to his wife on Instagram – hasn’t posted about her since March 2024.
In his last post, he called Samantha his ‘beautiful wife / best friend’ and praised her for balancing ‘work life, athletics and home life’, all while looking after her husband and sons.
Samantha has meanwhile deleted her social media page.
