Raye’s Stolen Car with Songbooks Found After Robbery

Raye has revealed that her stolen car that contained her beloved songbooks has been recovered by police.

The singer, 28, was left devastated last year when she shared that her car was robbed, and it had all of her songwriting books in the boot, putting a pause on plans for her second studio album.

But in a new interview, Raye has revealed that her car was found several months after it was taken, and miraculously, all of her songwriting books were still there.

The star had first shared the robbery on Instagram when she shared a snap of a cake with the words ‘sorry ur car got stolen.’

Raye is finally set to release her second studio album, which is still yet to be named, in the coming months.

She’s also announced her 51-date tour, called This Tour May Contain New Music, which kicks off in January.

Speaking on The EE Official Big Top 40 Show, host Will Manning asked Raye:  Last year your car was stolen, all the songwriting books were in there. How did that moment shape where we’re at right now with this next album?’

She then replied: ‘So it was a rollercoaster journey, but what I didn’t tell everyone is that the police called me, maybe like 2-3 months ago, and they were like, ”We found your car”.

‘And I got it back, and not only did I get it back, not one thing had been taken out of the car and all my songwriting books were there untouched.’

Last month, Raye admitted that despite her second album being available for pre-order, it’s still ‘not remotely done.’

Speaking on Capital Radio Breakfast Show, the songstress admitted she’s treating the album like homework, by putting it off as long as possible.

Raye laughed: ‘Can I be completely honest with you? I’ve announced this album for pre order, yeah. The album is not even remotely done’.

‘You know when you’ve got homework at school, right? Not leave it to the last minute because I am working on it a lot. And it is mainly because with this song yeah, I actually handed it in about two weeks ago, maybe even less.

She went on: ‘With music I want it to be incredible, and I want it to be the best thing it can be. And for me it is deeper than putting a bunch of songs together and handing it out. Even how they flow together is everything to me’.

It comes after the singer opened up about dating after her sexual assault and how her sister gave her the biggest wakeup call during her drug battle as she poses for October’s British Vogue.

She previously revealed her deeply sensitive experiences with sexual assault and addiction in her debut album My 21st Century Blues.

Raye was assaulted by a music producer who forced his hand between her legs when she was 17.

Opening up about her previous experience with dating and relationships, she said she grew up wanting a ‘manly man’.

She then mused: ‘Then you go through some of the… you know.’

Raye’s last relationship lasted for two years before coming to an end, with the star admitting she has been ‘single for so long’ since.

Speaking about her split, she said: ‘My last devastating break-up was four, five years ago. I was like, “I’m gonna marry him”.

‘We was together for two years and it ended up not working out. I have never experienced a more crippling emotion.

‘It took me three, four years to get over him. Like, I can’t allow myself to fall in love again until it’s safe.’

When it comes to any potential suitors, Raye said what she looks for in a man has ‘changed significantly over the years’.

During the summer romance rumours surrounding Raye and Formula 1’s Lewis Hamilton began to swirl, particularly as he couldn’t keep his eyes off her during one of her sets.

However, Raye has insisted the pair are just ‘great friends’ and have been for a number of years now.
