Ranvir Singh has opened up about the ‘anxieties’ she faced when she first embarked on her relationship with her toyboy lover.
The Good Morning Britain host, 47, is currently dating Louis Church, who at 29-years-old is almost 18 years her junior, since September 2020 after meeting him when he worked behind-the-scenes during her stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
The couple now live together with Ranvir’s son Tushaan, 12 – whom she shares with ex-husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal – and her mother.
And in a new interview, the broadcaster admitted that it was a ‘brave decision’ to welcome a new man into her life as a single mother, as it wasn’t only her feelings that she had to contend with.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she detailed the ‘caution’ she approached her romance with, explaining: ‘I think anybody who’s been in the position I’ve been in plays it very cautiously. It really isn’t just about you and your feelings.
‘We can throw caution to the wind for ourselves, but when we have children, our foot is always hovering over the brake pad because you think, “Hang on a minute, this isn’t just about me.” It’s not just about the relationship itself, but even thinking, “Have I got the time to introduce somebody?” I don’t want to dilute my time with my son.’

She continued: ‘All those anxieties are really universal. Caution is the byword for anybody in my position. I think you take a lot longer to choose to integrate. It’s a much, much bigger and weightier decision than when it’s just you, for sure.’
The Lorraine presenter however highlighted the rewards of taking the leap as she admitted that falling in love is ‘a very brave decision’, noting that ‘to do it well’ is a ‘lifelong journey’.
Meanwhile, Ranvir reflected on becoming a single mum during her pregnancy following her split from her husband.
In December last year, Ranvir revealed she had secretly split from Ranjeet when she was seven months pregnant as she admitted to being a single mum for 12 years.
Before then it had been widely believed that the presenter only split from her spouse in 2020 before her stint on Strictly.
And looking back on that tough period in her life, Ranvir noted that she has the ‘sort of life’ she ‘thought’ she might have, but accepted that ‘not everything has gone to plan’, as she wondered what the ‘next tranche’ of her life might be.
Despite this, Ranvir wouldn’t trade her situation for anything as she acknowledges that her deep bond with Tushaan stems from her being a single mother.
She added that without a partner involved for years, there was ‘no hiding place’ with her and her son, meaning that there’s a ‘raw, open honesty’ with their relationship, which ultimately contributed to their ‘incredible and unique closeness’.

It comes after Ranvir opened up about her past relationship for the first time.
Opening up on the White Wine Question Time with Kate Thornton podcast last year, she said: ‘I have actually been a single mum since I was 7 months pregnant. I’ve kept that so quiet but I am okay to talk about it now.
‘Now I’m at a point in my life where I think that I’m learning to embrace my whole life and to not compartmentalise it as much, to keep everything separate. And that’s a me thing.’
She added: ‘I’m happy to correct it today. Obviously my friends and family have known. It shows you can keep private whatever you choose to!’
Ranvir had recently taken the next step in her relationship with Louis after moving him in to live with her and her son.
The broadcaster previously gave an insight into her routine at home.

She told The Telelegraph: ‘[At 5:30am] I try to talk myself back to sleep but it doesn’t always work. I get up, make a decaf tea and start chopping an onion for a dahl for lunch.
‘My partner Louis is terrible. He always hits snooze every ten minutes – it drives me mad!’
The television star said she enjoys dressing down for weekend walks with Louis and her pet dog.
She added: ‘[At 11am] Quick shower and then out for a family dog walk with our cockerpoo, Shmizzels, in the Chiltern Hills.
‘At this time of year I live in my knee-high furry UGG boots – they’re my best investment! I’m make-up free at the weekend and don’t care what I look like.’
