Awhina Rutene’s Married At First Sight audition tape has leaked – and furious fans all agree that the show ‘did her dirty’.
In the video, shared by her twin sister Cleo on TikTok, Awhina, 31, revealed that it was her mother who encouraged her to go on the show.
She said she was initially hesitant, revealing she hadn’t dated anyone since coming out of her previous long-term relationship.
‘I’m so scared and intimidated by it,’ she admitted, with what appeared to be tears in her eyes.
But the single mum said she decided to dive into the experiment and open her heart to love.
‘How great would it be if someone found me the perfect guy for me and I didn’t have to waste another 14 years?’ she said.

Fans poured in the comments of the clip, which has amassed 282.3 thousand views since it was posted, expressing their sadness that the sweet-hearted contestant had been put through the ringer on the series.
One person wrote: ‘Would have much preferred watching Awhina being paired with her perfect partner than this.’
Another made a subtle dig at her on-screen husband Adrian Araouzou, writing: ‘And they gave her Adrian.’
However, most of the comments were aimed at the MAFS producers, saying that they ‘did her dirty’ on the show’s 12th season.
‘Mafs did her dirty with Adrian… she deserves the world and way better than him,’ one person wrote.

Meanwhile, furious viewers have also questioned why controversial groom Adrian has been allowed to remain on the show after displaying controlling behaviour towards Awhina.
During Sunday night’s commitment ceremony, Adrian repeatedly instructed Awhina what to say prior to their turn on the couch.
Once in front of the experts, the controversial groom continued his controlling behaviour, cutting Awhina off as she tried to speak.
Following the episode, viewers took to social media to question why Adrian was not pulled up on his conduct while fellow groom Paul Antoine was officially put on notice for his violent outburst last week in front of Carina.
Viewers flooded Facebook page Tea Time to chastise the reality star and producers, with one fan claiming it was hypocritical of producers to allow Adrian’s actions.

Yet another jumped in also admitting they were ‘triggered’ by the experts’ apparent acceptance of Adrian’s behaviour.

‘Both these men [Adrian and Paul] should be kicked off the show. It’s disgusting.’
During Sunday night’s commitment ceremony, Adrian was adamant that Awhina should stay quiet about their family day, but she wasn’t having it – she pushed back hard, making it clear that he doesn’t control what she says.

Adrian repeatedly spoke over Awhina or cut her off completely, apparently fearful of what she might say to experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling, and Alessandra Rampolla.
This prompted groom Dave Hand to shout: ‘She looks at you for permission to speak, mate. Ask her.’
Awhina then jumped in with: ‘It’s not that I feel like I need permission.
‘It’s that sometimes, I feel like it’ll cause a rift between us if I delve into too much details about certain things and I don’t want to hurt Adrian’s feelings.’
John Aitken then asked Awhina what it was about Adrian that she liked – a question he had to repeat multiple times – as she struggled for an answer.
She eventually shared that she was fond of the way Adrian sometimes looks at her and the respect he has for his family.
Much to he shock of fellow brides and grooms, and the viewing public, Awhina opted to continue with Adrian in the experiment.
