Rachel Zoes First Call After Split: Jennifer Garner

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star has talked about what happened after she decided to leave her husband Rodger Berman.

The star's first call was to Hollywood actress , who is a longtime friend, she said on the Inside Edit Podcast with Maeve Reilly.

And Zoe said she will never forget Garner's reaction which was, 'You must be so tired.'

And instantly the stylist knew what the 13 Going On 30 actress was talking about: there was exhaustion from trying to make a marriage work then ultimately deciding it was a failure.

Garner famously divorced  after three children and 13 years of marriage. He went on to marry then divorce his old fiancée, .

Garner also recommended the top lawyer she used when leaving Affleck: 57-year-old Laura Wasser, a Los Angeles based divorce attorney who has worked with , ,  and .

Wasser's nickname is The Disso Queen.

As Zoe joined The Season 15, she candidly shared what went wrong in her marriage.

'There’s a lot of reasons that our relationship was strained,' she admitted in the  episode. 'In hindsight, if I had to say a great regret - greatest regret - would probably be working together.'

The star, who is a celebrity stylist and entrepreneur, created the Rachel Zoe brand with her estranged husband, and they both sit on the board of Rachel Zoe Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm.

Berman costarred with Zoe on The Rachel Zoe Project for its full five-season run from 2008 to 2013. The two share sons, 14-year-old Skyler and 12-year-old Kaius.

'Lines got crossed,' Rachel told the RHOBH producers. 'The person that I was with my whole adult life was, in many ways, unrecognizable.'

She broke down in tears as she admitted, 'Ultimately, that person didn’t feel right around me or around my kids.'

In January, Zoe recalled the 'insane' moment that led to her.

The star and Berman were together for 33 years - 26 of those being through marriage after the former couple tied the knot in 1996. 

During a conversation with castmate , Zoe explained that her ex planned an unannounced meeting so he could introduce their sons to his girlfriend - although her name was not disclosed in the episode.

However, Berman has been whom he was seen cozying up with just four months after his split from Zoe. 

Her children were about to go off to camp at the time as the TV personality added, 'She's never met the kids.'

The star added, 'My kids are leaving, about to get on a plane to camp, literally she f***ing appears. She's there with him, shows up and says hi to my sons. What the f***?' 

And during a confessional, Zoe revealed that she had officially filed for divorce that same day. 

'Just a typical day. I mean, it's not one thing,' she said, referencing what had prompted her to take the step to end the marriage.

'It's an absolute myriad of bad decisions that have been over the last month, the last weeks, the last f***ing hour that would trigger me to move things forward.' 

The mom-of-two and Berman did not sign a prenup before marrying. 

The designer additionally expressed that she didn't want to receive or give spousal support. 

'I feel that this is a new beginning and if we are separating and living separate lives and are separate people, I don't see why I should be paying for that or he should be paying for mine.' 

In July, it was revealed that Zoe had filed for divorce and listed the date of separation as June 27, 2024 in documents obtained by the Daily Mail. 

She cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for the separation while also requesting that both she and Berman have joint legal and physical custody of their two children. 

'After 33 years together and 26 years married, Rodger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage,' the former couple expressed in a joint statement at the time. 

'We are incredibly proud of the loving family we have created and our countless memories together.' 

The pair said they will prioritize focus on their sons and 'are committed to co-parent our boys and to continue to work together within the many businesses we share.' 

The TV personality also previously said during a past episode of RHOBH that 

'I think we've outgrown each other; we became very different people,' she further stated during a conversation with her pal Kathy Hilton. 

She also told People late last year that she is back on the dating scene and admitted it was 'incredibly fun.'

'To be honest, that wasn't hard for me to get into. It really wasn't. I think this era for me is just freedom.'
