It comes after she was faced with backlash for trashing the original animated Snow White film in a newly resurfaced video.
Recently, Zegler has been faced with controversy after resurfaced footage showed her talking about how much she disliked the original 1937 classic Disney film and the ‘stalker’ prince.
This comes after she was cast as Snow White in the upcoming live action remake, which is set for release in 2024.
When the casting for the film was revealed, she was met with criticism and disgraceful racist trolling for not being a traditionally ‘fair’ German princess.
During a red carpet interview with Extra TV, she made controversial comments about how her version of Snow White was going to differ.
‘The original cartoon came out in 1937 and very evidently so,’ she said in the interview. ‘There’s a big focus on her love story with the guy who literally stalks her.’
She called it ‘weird’ before saying: ‘So we didn’t do that this time.’
‘We have a different approach to what I’m sure a lot of people will assume is a love story just because we casted a guy in the movie,’ she said about whether there is still a prince in the reboot.

‘It’s one of those things that I think everyone’s going to have their assumptions about what it’s actually going to be,’ she continued. ‘But it’s really not about the love story at all — which is really, really wonderful.’
In another interview with Variety, Zegler admitted that she would not be playing the beloved Disney princess in the same way the character was portrayed in the 1937 animated film.
She said that her Snow White was ‘not going to be saved by the prince’ and is not someone who’s ‘going to be dreaming about true love’.
‘She’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true,’ she added.
Whether her character finds love, she said, ‘is anybody’s guess until 2024.’
