The Notebook actress, 45 – who recently put on a radiant display while attending the Tony Awards nominees luncheon – joined other celebrities on the red carpet, such as Sarah Paulson and Succession’s Jeremy Strong, at The Ziegfeld Ballroom.
The ceremony notably ‘bestows honors in seven categories’ including the Distinguished Performance Award – which is ‘the oldest theatrical honor in the United States,’ per the official website.
McAdams – who has been nominated a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for her role in Mary Jane – stunned at the event in a long, sleeveless black vest with a deep, plunging neckline at the front.
She slipped into a pair of fitted, matching trousers that contained a hem that concealed the shoes she donned for the festivities.

Mary Jane initially opened back in 2017 at the Yale Repertory Theatre and had its Broadway debut with McAdams in the leading role last month in April. The play is set to end shows later next month on June 30.

‘Yeah, it’s very different from doing film or television. The workout my brain is going through to learn all these lines and then not just throw them away, you know?’ she explained.
‘In film and television, you learn a page, you throw it away, you never see it again until maybe a reshoot a year later.’
Rachel humorously added, ‘I love coming to work in my pajamas and staying in them. Film and television, you might show up in your pajamas, but you’re not gonna stay that way.’
‘So, as you know, just kind of not thinking about hair and makeup, and just really getting into the nitty gritty and the meat of it everyday…,’ the star continued.
Rachel also talked about being in front of a live crowd and stated, ‘That sizzle of playing with an audience, and talking to them, and whatever they’re gonna give back.’
‘And I’ve been told you can hear everything, you can – you really do feel them so palpably, so I’m sort of terrified of that, and also looking forward to it.’
