Rachel is currently hard at work on the upcoming superhero film Superman, in which she will portray Lois Lane.
The forthcoming movie will follow the Man of Steel as he attempts to balance the lessons he learned during his upbringing in Kansas with his Kryptonian abilities.
Development on the project initially began in the mid-2010s, although James Gunn did not reveal that he was writing its script until November of 2022, and he signed on as the movie’s director in March of last year.
Superman will be portrayed by David Corenswet, while the role of his nemesis, Lex Luthor, is set to be filled by Nicholas Hoult.
Other performers such as Isabela Merced, Anthony Carrigan and Nathan Fillion will round out the cast of the film.
Brosnahan was revealed to have been cast as Lois Lane, Superman’s love interest, in June of last year.
The actress recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight and expressed that the new Superman film would provide certain updates on its source material while paying homage the legacy of the DC Comics character.
‘We’re excited to both put our own spin on things and honor the material we love so much,’ she said.

Brosnahan went on to state that much of the feature’s cast and crew were die-hard fans of the Man of Steel.
‘Every single person involved in this production is such a perfect nerd for Superman. We all grew up watching the movies. Some of us were reading the comics. So I feel like it’s being made with so much love,’ she said.
The performer added that the new version of Superman would ‘have a sense of humor’ and that Lane would be ‘feisty, marvelous and fiercely intelligent.’
Superman is currently scheduled to premiere on July 11, 2025.
