The Queensland music community are in mourning after local musician Luke Nash suddenly died on Friday.
Known from Warwick to Dalby as a wedding and pub singer, Luke is survived by his 14-year-old son Alakai.
Alakai’s mother Tiff Adams announced the shock passing of Luke on Facebook and Instagram, adding that funeral dates and times are yet to be confirmed.
‘It is with great sadness that I inform you that Nash Nash has passed away today,’ she wrote on the Nash Music Facebook page, referencing his stage name.
‘Unfortunately this means any future gigs he has had booked will need to be arranged with other artists.
‘This has all come as a great shock and clearly beyond our control. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.’

Fans of the beloved music artist, who was known for his many beautiful renditions of hit songs, flocked to the comments of the post to express their sadness.
‘So sad to hear the news of Nash passing. I fell in love with his music in 2013 and my husband and I would go to the Warwick RSL to listen to him play,’ one person wrote.
‘He was brilliant. We loved his talent so much that we had him play at our wedding. RIP Nash.
‘I will always remember you for being a great man with an amazing talent for music.
‘My sincere condolences to Nash’s family and friends with my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss.’
Another added: ‘He was an awesome entertainer even if he wouldn’t sing horses. We loved him so much.’
‘Nash, you were a very talented, very kind and always humble man. I’ll miss seeing you around. Thank you for the music and memories,’ a third penned.
‘Geez what a loss for the Warwick and Districts. We were only talking at the Malt House in late December. You’ll be missed mate. I’ll miss that voice,’ one user wrote.

Another commented: ‘Heartbreaking news, a great bloke and a great talent lost too soon in our corner of Queensland.’
‘Oh no. So sad to hear this news. We will all miss Nash here at the Bun. What an amazing talented man. Condolences to Nash’s family,’ said one more.
Local musician Andrew Kucks went so far as to offer to take over the gigs at pubs that had booked Luke just before his sudden death.
‘I’ve been asked to make a post to help an impossible situation today and try to assist anyone affected by this news that had booked Nash for gigs,’ he said.
‘Feel free to message me and I’ll try to help coordinate and cover his gigs. Anything I can do to help the family at this time I will do.
‘We musicians stick together for our mates.’
Luke’s former partner Tiff has started a GoFundMe page to help raise money and support for Luke’s funeral and for the costs of his teenage son Alakai’s future.
‘Nash and I created our beautiful 14-year-old son Alakai, who Nash adored, loved and stayed with us every week,’ Tiff said.

One friend of Luke’s friends, Emma Hope, has organised a memorial and fundraising event on February 23 at the Blue Mountain Hotel
‘Sadly as you are all aware Nash suddenly passed away on Friday the 10th of January 2025.
‘As you could imagine this time is extremely hard for Nash’s family, myself and especially Alakai.
‘His loss has left such a impact that we are still coming to terms with it all.
‘After many friends of Nash suggested that we set up a GoFundMe, we decided to graciously ask for support in order to help relieve a little of the financial stress that is left behind after someone’s passing, but also to help support Alakai’s future, which was most important to N

‘If you knew Nash, than you know he was one of the kindest most genuine people you would ever meet.
‘Nash would give the shirt off his back, his last dollar to those who were in need, even if that meant he went without. He truly put others fist often.
‘Nash above all loved his son beyond measure. Alakai was his absolute whole world. Please help us honour Nash’s biggest wish by supporting Alakai’s future.’
The GoFundMe has currently raised $2,270 of its $4,500 target, with 28 donations made so far.
