Princess Love has revealed the ‘challenge’ of co-parenting with her estranged husband Ray J along with a major career achievement she is currently celebrating in an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail.
Love, 41, shares daughter Melody, seven, and son Epik, five, with the R&B singer (who is also famously the ex of Kim Kardashian). She filed for divorce from him earlier this year.
It’s the fourth time a divorce filing has occurred between the pair since their 2016 wedding, and earlier this year police were reportedly called to their home following a heated altercation where Love alleged Ray J, 44, had been ‘aggressive, shouting, and possibly under the influence’ (Authorities ultimately determined no crime had been committed).
While raising children with an ex is undoubtedly difficult, Love says the pitfalls are all worth it for her ‘babies.’
‘It’s a challenge, but it’s a challenge that I’m up for,’ she told The Daily Mail. ‘Those are my babies and they always come first.’
The doting mom is also taking her career to the next level – she is embarking on her first lead role in the brand new film Adopted 2 and earlier this year became the owner of a brand new nail and beauty bar in Los Angeles.

The star spoke exclusively with Daily Mail about being a doting mom of two and her first-ever lead role in the upcoming film Adopted 2
‘I like to stay busy, as long as everything’s structured. I don’t have a nanny, I’ve never had a nanny,’ she continued of her children. ‘Very hands on with everything, the room parent in their classrooms. They come first and I think as long as you just plan everything out, you’re fine,’ she said.
When asked if that included hand-offs with an ex, she replied, ‘Yeah.’
Love’s son Epik even joined her on the set of the horror film, which sees the reality star portray a mother who adopts a dangerous child.
‘He was there most of the time,’ she said. ‘But not in the first couple days, he was there more towards the end.’
Love assured her child the film was all just pretend due to her gory movie makeup.
‘He was there and some of the scenes I had to tell him, “this is just a movie”. You know, because I had like the makeup, so I had to tell him this is just a movie. But he’s really smart. He’s only five, but he’s really, really intelligent.’
The role is Princess’ first-ever lead role in a film and allowed her to grow her acting skills and develop a ‘deeper love for the craft.’
‘I really love this role because this is my first lead role and it really gave me the opportunity to really stretch myself as an actress,’ she said.

Unbeknownst to them, the child has murderous tendencies.
The movie is now out on Tubi, and the cast were celebrating the film at the movie’s red carpet premiere in Glendale on Wednesday.
Love was also asked if she was aware about the lawsuit filed against her ex Ray J by Kim Kardashian and her mother Kris Jenner, who are both suing him for defamation after he wildly claimed the pair were under a federal criminal racketeering investigation (the pair called his statements ‘blatantly false’ in their lawsuit).

Kardashian, 44, who was involved in a notorious sex tape with Ray J during their brief romance in 2007, and Jenner, 69, claimed in the lawsuit that Ray J has ‘engaged in a sustained campaign of harassment and defamation’ against them for ‘more than two decades.’
Love has ‘heard something’ about the lawsuit but overall doesn’t focus on her ex.
‘I’ve heard something but I don’t pay attention, I don’t follow him. I don’t follow them… I just try to stay out of the way.’
Rather, Love is staying in her own lane: ‘I’m just in my own world all around. I’m in a peaceful place… I’m in a happy place. You know, I’m focused on business and starting new businesses and you know, my kids.’
Indeed, the star has her hands full – on top of raising her two children, she is also running the nail and beauty bar PRELLA and pursuing her passion of poker playing.
Love is in talks to appear on a show about women in poker, a hobby she picked up after being taught by her cousins.

The new skill ‘ignited something’ in Love, who last year was crowned the winner of Celebrity Poker Tour Invitational II.
‘It’s funny because my cousins taught me during [a] Thanksgiving gathering and you know, I never was a gambler. I don’t play blackjack, I don’t go to the casino. If I lose a couple $100 I’m done,’ she said. ‘When I learned poker, it kind of ignited something in me, like, “Hmm! At the table with all men and I can outplay them? I kinda like this!”‘
Still, she admits to feeling a bit ‘intimidated’ by the more seasoned players: ‘There are times where I feel intimidated because there’s people there who do it for a living and for me, it’s a hobby, something that I love to do, I know that I’m good at.
‘Playing with people who have been doing it for twenty years, it can get intimidating… They do try to bully me but I don’t let it happen.’

Love is also the owner of the new salon, PRELLA Nail and Beauty Bar in Sherman Oaks, a business she had long been attempting to get off the ground after an initial failed start.
‘It’s something that I actually developed almost ten years ago. I tried to open a salon on Melrose, and pretty much everything that could go wrong, went wrong. I was building the space on Melrose for two years, never got my inspections passed.
‘So I said, you know what, I’m not gonna cry over spilled milk, I’m gonna turn this into a makeup brand and I’m just gonna sell online until I find a space that already has plumbing, because the plumbing was a nightmare.. cause I was turning it from retail to a salon,’ she said.
She told herself she would ‘revisit’ the concept once the right spot came up.
‘Fast forward to last year, I told my real estate agent, I’m ready to revisit PRELLA again and I found the spot in one day.’
They held a ribbon cutting for the salon in May, and Love called the business a ‘hub’ for her friends where customers can get the A-list beauty treatment at an affordable price.
‘It’s like my office. We all come, we work and we laugh, we cry together. I feel all the customers that come in, they get to experience that.
‘My best friend, she’s a celebrity hairstylist. My other friend is a celebrity makeup artist. So people can come in and still get that service for a normal price.’
