Swedish pop icon Robyn is back with new music after a lengthy hiatus, but not everybody is a fan of the 46-year-old’s new tunes.
The ‘Dancing On Me Own’ hitmaker raised eyebrows after performing her new single ‘Sexistential’ on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week.
Clad in red leather trousers and a gold embroidered leather vest from Versace, Robyn writhed around on stage and awkwardly thrusted her hips to the electro-pop song.
The song, which is about embracing one’s sexuality after becoming a mother, features bizarre lyrics about IVF and Japanese hentai porn.
‘I’m on the clock, just give me your ASL / F**k a Plan B, baby, it’s no big deal,’ she raps.

The 46-year-old twisted herself into a number of awkward positions on stage
‘I’m already ten weeks in maternity / F**k a single mom, I’m not judgmental / In my sweatpants and some juicy hentai.’
In an even stranger turn, the Swedish songstress then sings about wanting Hollywood actor Adam Driver to be her sperm donor.
‘So I was about to go have a kid on my own / And then my doctor said, “Now, Robyn, who would be your dream donor?” / Well, Adam Driver always did kinda give me a boner,’ she raps.
The performance has been ridiculed by pop fans on X (formerly Twitter), with many calling it one of the pop legend’s worst tracks to date.
‘Is this the breakdance chick from the Olympics?’ wrote one, referring to notorious Australian breakdancer Rachael Gunn.
‘I have second hand embarrassment,’ wrote another, while a third commented, ‘Is this really what is considered music nowadays?’
Another wrote, ‘This is the worst f***ing song I have ever heard.’
However, a number of die-hard Robyn fans defended the star, with one gushing, ‘I’m sorry but Robyn is super talented –– this performance may not be her best but it’s by far better than most out today.’

A second fan commented, ‘Robyn has been making music like Sexistential since self-titled. It’s very clear many disappointed self-proclaimed Robyn fans have only heard Dancing On My Own and maybe Honey.’
Daily Mail has contacted Robyn’s management for comment.
Robyn’s return comes after the star welcomed her first child back in 2023.
It’s unclear who the father of her son is, but the lyrics of Sexistential suggest that she may have possibly used a donor.
Robyn’s last known relationship was with videographer Max Vitali, who she called her fiancé in a 2013 interview with Collection of Style magazine.
The pair reportedly separated at one point but later reconciled by 2018, though the status of their relationship is currently unknown.
‘We became friends when we made the video for Be Mine, and now we work together a lot,’ she told the magazine at the time.
She also previously dated Olof Inger in 2002, and the pair were engaged until 2011.
Robyn will release her ninth studio album, Sexistential, on 27 March 2026.
