It comes as Tom revealed that he is picking up the piano to not only learn a new skill but also to unwind before doing his wild stunts in the Mission: Impossible franchise.
The 62-year-old A-lister – whose love affair with Ana de Armas has been confirmed in a DailyMail+ exclusive – talked to People magazine about his drive to continue to learn.
He explained to the weekly: ‘I will learn a skill, and I know eventually I’m going to use it in a movie.’
Tom went on to explain that he is ‘constantly training’ several different skills as he said: ‘Whether it’s the piano or having more time to dance. Or parachuting or flying airplanes or helicopters. The wonderful thing is you’re never there. It can always be better.’
He was asked about his skill level on the keys as he said: ‘I wouldn’t say “play.” I enjoy hitting the keys… I find it relaxing.’Â
Ahead of the release of the eighth and possible final film of the franchise – Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning – the star said that he learns dance ‘because I’m interested in that art form. The teachers understand how to move a body, what the shape does and the emotion it can create in others.’
No doubt, Tom is actively looking for way to unwind as he has starred in the franchise since 1996 and is known for doing all of his death-defying stunts.
In the soon-to-be released big budget action flick, his character Ethan Hunt hangs from and crawls along the wings of a biplane from the 1940s above South Africa’s Drakensberg mountain range which could be seen in the trailer for the upcoming flick.

He explained: ‘I remember seeing old footage of wing-walking. Those aircraft were only traveling at, I don’t know, 40, 50 miles an hour.Â
‘This aircraft is up to over 120 miles an hour. Going out there, I was realizing that it takes your breath away.’Â Â Â
The first teaser trailer for Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning was released at the end of last year, as the long-awaited conclusion to the beloved film series confirmed its title after months of delays.
Reprising his role as the titular hero Ethan Hunt, Tom is set to take on his biggest mission yet, after a tense cliffhanger saw the spy determined to track down cyber weapon The Entity.
In the trailer, fans got a glimpse back through some of the film franchise’s most iconic moments, as Ethan pleads with his team to ‘trust him one last time.’
A voice narrates: ‘Everything you were, everything you’ve done, has come to this.
‘When the need for certainty is absolute and the odds are deemed impossible, the mission falls to him, should he choose to accept.’
As Ethan battles to find the mysterious Entity, he’ll face some of his biggest stunts yet, including being forced to dangle from a World War II plane.

The film, which has faced multiple delays, is finally due to hit cinemas on May 23 2025.
The filming of the UK scenes of the eighth instalment of the Mission Impossible franchise initially took place between March and December 2022.
Production on the eighth film had originally halted so that the cast could promote Part One, and then the SAG-AFTRA strike began causing further delays.
Production restarted soon after, but was suspended in July due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Filming resumed in March 2024, but came to another halt in May, allegedly due to a faulty gimbal (a camera tool).
Mission Impossible 8 was originally meant to be filmed back-to-back with Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which raked in over half a billion at box office.
