Poh Ling Yeow has made a shocking admission about how she got over her ex-husband breaking up with her and finding love with her best friend.
The MasterChef Australia judge, 50, divorced filmmaker Matt Phipps in 1999, yet has maintained a close friendship with her ex over the years – despite him later marrying her best friend Sarah Rich.
The celebrity chef spoke candidly about her reaction to her ex-husband moving on with her best friend on The Imperfects podcast earlier this month.
Poh, who married Phipps in 1989 when she was just 16, revealed on the podcast that she needed less than a month to get over the shock of realising her friend and ex had become an item.
‘Just leave me alone for like three weeks. And then I’m sure everything will be fine afterwards,’ she said.
Hosts Hugh van Cuylenburg, Ryan Shelton and Josh van Cuylenburg were dumbfounded, and asked her why she only needed three weeks.
‘I don’t know, it seemed like the right amount because we all see each other all the time,’ she replied
Poh then admitted she took a very detached, casual approach to the situation.

‘I would be choosing to react like this because I’ve already left the relationship… you know what I mean?
‘It was quite short after we had split, so I just knew very clearly cut. I couldn’t do that. I would be going in reverse if I decided to make a big deal of it,’ she added.
While most people would struggle to cope such a bizarre turn of events, Poh said she’s thankful for how it all turned out.
Poh went on to tie the knot with Jono Bennett in 2014 after six years together, but confirmed their separation in early 2021.
After her divorces, Poh ran Jamface café in Adelaide with both of her exes and Matt’s new wife Sarah Rich, with their ‘love square’ business arrangement prompting huge interest. Poh has previously told how her unique dynamic with her exes is ‘no big deal’

Poh has previously told how her unique dynamic with her exes is ‘no big deal’ as she discussed them all running the Jamface café before Jono left the business.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia last year, Poh said: ‘I think everyone wants to paint this really salacious picture but we just transitioned into it [being friends and business partners] with such ease that to us it’s just no big deal,’ she said, referring to the public interest in the unorthodox partnership.
‘We all run [Jamface café] together, so we’re equal partners. It’s just how the cookie crumbled. We don’t really think anything weirdly, because it’s what happened to us.
‘I think everyone wants to think there is this love triangle. There is no love triangle, believe me!’
