She then said: ‘For years I was ashamed of my age. I had this fear of clients finding out my age and canceling jobs even though I fit the look.’
She added, ‘I was shooting prom dresses in my 30s and nobody knew.
‘For years, I had to conceal my true identity, even from friends, out of fear they might reveal my secret to others in the industry. I had to be someone else in order to work.
‘I was forced to dull my knowledge, experience and light in order to fit this role.’
She then said: ‘Today, at 35, I’ve never felt better, younger, or more alive. Here is my truth. My life is just beginning.’
Earlier this year she went topless to show off the scar under her breast from having her implants removed.

And the beauty shared a long note about how the move was part of a larger life change that has involved a relocation to LA, a therapist, meditation, and giving up marijuana and alcohol.
‘A lot has happened in the past year…. I’ve undergone a transformative journey of self-love and growth,’ began the blonde beauty.
‘I started working with a wonderful therapist, quit alcohol and weed, and moved to LA where I found my own apartment.
Her journey: Corrigan shared an eye-popping image to Instagram in September. She went topless to show off the scar under her breast from having her implants removed
Loopy: ‘I’m beyond grateful, wow,’ she said wearing ace bandages around her chest, ‘No boobies anymore,’ she added after her surgery earlier this year
Joy added that she ‘took control of my career,’ letting go of past model agents and managers.
‘I started earning and making more money then ever,’ she noted.
‘I started creating a whole new team, and have surrounded myself with people who share the same values.’
Corrigan is also in love. She dates tech executive Ted Dhanik, 46. At Myspace, Dhanik was a department VP and had helped launch the company when it was still in its infancy. He founded the technology company Engage:BDR, which went public in Australia in 2017.
‘I met a supportive partner, moved in with him, and we got two puppies and a kitten!’ said the model.
Now she is much healthier.
‘Prioritizing my health, I began meditating, underwent an explant surgery, and started sharing my experiences to empower other women,’ added the cover girl.

‘I now eat and exercise for wellness, not appearance, and have gained 10 pounds. I stopped focusing on my weight and started listening to my intuition,’ said the star.
And she has hobbies she loves.
‘I’ve found joy in painting, acting, creating, and pursuing my dreams. I’m healthier and happier than ever before, all thanks to me P.S. I’m still evolving, learning to love myself more each day.’
She had her breast implants removed earlier this year.
Corrigan previously said that she was prepared to be open about her decision in an effort to spread awareness about ‘breast implant illness’ and to shed light on the truth of life with implants.
Similarly, last year former race car driver Danica Patrick also documented her breast implant removal, seven years after suffering health issues including hair loss, weight gain and dizziness.
In her recent video, Corrigan thanked the team behind her explant surgery as she showed the various stages of recovery.
‘I was terrified to go into surgery, but as soon as it was done there was a huge sense of relief and freedom, I instantly knew that I made the right choice and I was so glad I trusted my intuition,’ she explained.

And she promised to share more of her journey with her 1m followers.
‘Stay tuned as I post more videos showing you all my journey. THANK YOU to everyone who has sent me love and support in this time, I don’t know what I would do without my family and friends and Ted,’
The Reprisal actress also narrated the video of her breast implant removal.
‘I just got here. Dr. Rankin is about to do my explant,’ she started after showing a calming shot of the ocean crashing onto the beach.
‘I’m super excited, I’m super nervous, Mama Dee is my guardian angel. She met me, braided my hair and then Dr. Rankin came in to mark me up for surgery,’ she explained.
Joy said her boyfriend was there and waited outside for her.
‘I’m so grateful for him,’ she said over a shot of the couple hugging before her surgery.
‘The surgery went smooth, everything went great. I was super loopy after and could barely walk, but the whole team took such great care of me,’ she said.
‘I’m beyond grateful, wow,’ she said wearing ace bandages around her chest, ‘No boobies anymore,’ she added.
Joy was apparently experiencing symptoms of Breast Implant Illness, which led to her decision to have them removed.
Big decision: ‘I’m so beyond grateful for the unbelievable support from everyone so far! Here is a video of my surgery with David Rankin and his explant liaison Dee Hicks and the whole incredible team,’ the 35-year-old wrote alongside the video

Symptoms of BII may include fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, dry eyes and many other health concerns. Removal of the implants often results in immediate relief.
Fans took to the comments to praise her for sharing her journey and being honest.
One fan wrote: ‘You are an amazing advocate for #bii; you’ve been through so much and have shared your vulnerabilities and triumphs after explanting. Dr. Rankin has given you back your health. And you are glowing from the inside out.’
The doctor who performed her extant surgery chimed in: ‘Thank you Joy Corrigan for being a HUGE and much needed voice for BII. I am so proud of you and completely honored to have been a part of your journey to a healthy you!’
