Pink Raises Concerns with IV Drip Photo After Shock Diagnosis

Pink has sparked concerned after posting a picture attached to an IV drip following a shock diagnosis.

The singer, 45, shared a snap relaxing on her sofa with a wine glass in one hand while hooked up to a drip as her daughter Willow, 14, looked after her.

The star – real name Alecia Beth Moore-Hart – was enjoying a vacation when it was interrupted by E. coli.

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a group of bacteria that normally lives in the gut (gastrointestinal/GI tract) of healthy people and animals.

The type that lives in your GI tract usually doesn’t hurt you – it even helps you digest your food. But under certain circumstances, many strains (types) of E. coli can make you sick, writes Cleveland Clinic

She penned in her Instagram picture: ‘This is all normal and everything is going really well.

‘When you go on vacation and have food and E. coli decides to move into your gut you kill it with friends and daughters and red wine and a vitamin IV concoction.’

She captioned her post, ‘Ahhh life and lemons and lemonade and great memories that I might remember.’

Her fans were concerned for her as they penned in the caption: ‘Sending love and hope you feel better soon.’,

‘Feel better soon!’,

‘Hope you feel better soon and are still able to enjoy the rest of your trip!!’,

‘Oh noooo that’s terrible, well at least you have good vibes, good people and good wine to help you recover.’,

‘Wishing you a speedy recovery.’

It comes after just last month Pink and her teenage daughter Willow looked like twins as they posed together in a rare snap at Hamilton’s 10th anniversary event in NYC.

The Raise Your Glass singer – who is married to motocross racer Carey Hart – was also joined by her son as they attended the festivities at The Richard Rogers Theatre on Broadway.

The performer tied the knot with Carey in 2006 and the pair later welcomed Willow as well as son Jameson, eight.

The teen was the epitome of her famous mom in a strapless red dress while Jameson also dressed for the occasion in a black suit.

Willow has followed in her mother’s musical footsteps and has not only performed with the Grammy winner on stage but is also a big fan of Broadway.

During an interview with People last year, the Who Knew songstress said of her eldest child: ‘She’s got a voice, man. She’s a little bird. She wants to do Broadway and then be a trauma surgeon.’

Pink also revealed to the outlet at the time that the pair were ‘learning a new song together.’

The star added, ‘She’s not totally on board yet. She’s very into musical theater. I’m trying to get her to spread her wings a little bit.’

One year earlier, both Pink and Willow notably belted out lyrics together on the last day of the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

The budding singer has been following in her mother’s performing footsteps and back in 2018, covered the song, A Million Dreams, for The Greatest Showman: Reimagined.

A few years later in 2021, Pink and her daughter released a duet called, Cover Me In Sunshine. The song landed on charts in various countries, such as the number six spot on the Australia (ARIA) chart.

Last year in February, Willow also appeared on stage with her mother during her Summer Carnival Tour in Australia and the pair notably sang Cover Me In Sunshine.

In 2023, Pink proudly shared a clip of her daughter – who was 11 at the time – performing an Olivia Rodrigo cover during her first recital.

What is E.coli?

Some of the main symptoms of E. coli are a very high temperature, a fever, not passing urine all day and being more confused than usual.

It can also cause diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach cramps.

In extremely serious cases, depending on the variant, E. coli can result in kidney failure.

One of these – STEC, or shiga toxin-producing E. coli – is spread by eating contaminated foods, such as raw leafy vegetables or undercooked meat.

The very infectious bacteria can also be spread by touching infected animals or their faeces and coming into contact with other people who are sick.

Who is more at risk of an E.coli infection?

  • Older person
  • Diabetic
  • Dehydrated
  • Urinary catheter
  • Intravenous device (PICC or Hickman Line)
  • Gallbladder or kidney stones
  • Enlarged prostate or other prostate problems
