Pierce Brosnan looked almost unrecognisable in his new role as ‘The Great Escaper’ D-Day veteran Artie Crawford for Sky Cinema’s The Last Rifleman.
The James Bond actor, 70, was aged into 89-year-old Artie using prosthetics and a balding grey wig.
Dressed up in a suit adorned with his war medals, Pierce looked like a stately gentleman as he leaned on a walking stick.
Pierce plays World War Two veteran Artie in the £12million wartime feature film, which is based on the true story of Bernard Jordan.

‘Artie’s epic journey to attend the anniversary of the D-Day landings is based on a true story. Coming to Sky Cinema soon.’
Royal Navy Lieutenant Jordan escaped from his care home in 2014 aged 89 to attend the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy.
He told his care home workers he was ‘popping down to the shops’ but instead headed to Brighton Railway station before boarding a train to Portsmouth and later a ferry to Caen.
He managed to attend the events alongside hundreds of other veterans to remember those who had lost their lives.
Meanwhile a cross-channel search and rescue operation was launched to locate him.
His exploits were splashed on the front page of the Mail at the time and earned him the nickname ‘The Great Escaper’.
Afterwards, he said of his escapade: ‘My thoughts were with my mates who had been killed. I was going to pay my respects.’
He later said: ‘In the months leading up to the anniversary I was trying to get an official trip to Normandy but I didn’t have the necessary passes. Then, the day before D-Day I saw all the TV coverage and thought, “I have to go and be part of it.” I was naughty and secretive.’

Pierce was previously snapped leaning on a walking stick during filming in County Antrim in Northern Ireland.
The feature film is based on real events and is written by Kevin Fitzpatrick and directed by Terry Loane.
The Last Rifleman also stars Harry Potter actress Clémence Poésy, German actor Jürgen Prochnow, John Amos, Derry Girls’ Claire Rafferty and Normal People’s Desmond Eastwood.
