Stunning: The actress appeared on the cover of ELLE’s October 2023 issue, where she discussed the pressure of working in male-dominated environment ahead of new film Fair Play
The actress’s latest film, Fair Play, will be released on Netflix on October 6, with Phoebe admitting she never expected to achieve such success.
Reflecting on Bridgerton she explained: ‘I was really naïve. I don’t think there was a period of my life as an actress when I thought about fame.
‘My only goal was to work as an actress and not have to have any other jobs. And so I just didn’t expect it to change my world in the way that it did.’
She plays leading character Emily in the upcoming erotic thriller and admitted that her years in the entertainment industry were all the preparation she needed to understand how it might be for a woman working at a hedge fund firm.
‘I felt like I knew enough about working in a very male-dominated environment,’ Phoebe revealed.
‘There is an extra pressure being a woman in this industry, but I also think that it motivates me to work on stuff like Fair Play and to feel like, Oh, I can have a say at moving the needle—a very tiny, tiny say, but we use those things to our advantage if we can.’
Netflix’s full synopsis for the Chloe Domont directed production states: ‘When a coveted promotion at a cutthroat financial firm arises, once supportive exchanges between lovers Emily (Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Alden Ehrenreich) begin to sour into something more sinister.
‘As the power dynamics irrevocably shift in their relationship, the couple must face the true price of success and the unnerving limits of ambition.’

However, Fair Play will not be Phoebe’s first experience when it comes to filming raunchy scenes for TV.
The gilded doors of Bridgerton will open once again later this year as season three finally makes its way back to our screens.

The raunchy Regency series has been a smash-hit for Netflix ever since the first season dropped in late 2020, and fans are more than ready to return to the world of high society gossip, scandal and the raunchiest of romances.
This time, the ton’s most-feared gossipmonger takes center stage because this season focuses on the one and only Lady Whistledown – as viewers watch Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and her longtime crush Colin Bridgerton’s (Luke Newton) story unfold.
The VERY racy drama first focused on the saucy sex life of Simon Bassett (Regé-Jean Page) and Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), all narrated by Lady Whistledown whose identity was finally revealed to viewers in a cliffhanger final scene.
Season two left hearts racing thanks to the slow burn of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma’s (Simone Ashley) epic enemies-to-lovers romance.
